You are a fool to be learning kirtan over the internet.

This is complete stupidness. Kirtan is meant to be done in raags, as prescribed by our Guru's, and we should not alter with that decision.

Kirtan takes years of studying and practicing to do it well. Not something that can be learned simply on the internet. Just practicing and playing around with all the notes (not on the harmonium but with your voice) may take years to perfect.

Gurbani & Kirtan instruction should be a sewa.

It should be seva but there are certain costs associated with the production of this material which need to be covered. The point of this project is not a money making scheme but its purpose was to reach those where there are no teachers or other facility to learn kirtan and make it accessible to them. The book is a result of 10 years of publishing and revising, and the rest of the project had a high time and financial cost too. The price of this product also helps fund the next project.

@vaadoo1 yes, in case you are rich and can make it!! Otherwise someone shall hold you, pay your rent and personal expenses, there shall be always an interchange of energies, so money is the easiest, the ones who cannot give to receive, as well will never be able to fully receive, cause they block these energies by not giving anything in return, so not wanting themselves to share! how can one receive then! if one has no money, there is always service or something to be done in exchange!

From what you are saying is that you need money to receive something? This defeats the very purpose of "sewa". Do you receive money to do sewa? I hope not.

Anyway, I think if you are a teacher, you could do some sewa at local gurdwara or even your house. If you are good in sports, teach someone without the greed for money. If you are a good keertani, then do the same.

@vaadoo1 this is great for there where you live or come from but not in the "real world" where I would very much act as you "order" but it`s not always possible, about seva I did so many gurdwaras in my house for free where I myself cooked and fed lots of peope!! so if you do not know us people be respectful, to feed 500 mouths every year is not cheap and I had to pay for months with seva I could not had made it to get the food!! as where I come from is not the use!! blessings

hanji, the audio instructions are in punjabi, the text is in punjabi and english. Hopefully in the next version the new dvd will feature punjabi and english instructions..
