God, if ONLY Gamera and Godzilla had a crossover, I would have the biggest Kaiju fan nerdgasm XD lol. It would have to be the Gamera and Godzilla from the Heisei series though.
Because Gamra is the friend of all children, and guardian of the universe. :D Godzilla is just pissed, for some reason...
Godzilla was originally treated like, not a b-movie, but a load of shit. They didn't expect it to become the worlds most renowned movie monster of all time.
well according to what i have looked up the original godzilla film was released only seven years after the bombing of hiroshima and nagasaki in WWII and that movie was also has a very serious tone to it and has a good moral about nuclear bombs and a tragic, dark and scary story. also for its time it had good effects even for a japanese movie. those were the reasons the movie became successful and made godzilla popular next to king kong.
so if godzilla was originally treated like a load of shit i dont think he would be as successful and popular today. and also while the heisei gamera movies are considered to be good gamera is still no where near as popular as godzilla and what you said is not even a good reason to say why the heisei gamera series has better effects than most of the heisei godzilla movies but doomrules08 im not sure how much time they DO take on the godzilla movies. i think its a good amount of time.
Well, I love the heisei series of Godzilla, but I have to admit it. They were releasing those movies year after year. From Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah(1991)to Godzilla vs. Destoroyah(1995). I am applauding them that it doesn't take them to long to release a Godzilla movie, but sometimes the product is rushed and you get this uneven movie. Gamera, although it took them forever to make sequels, did very well. But who cares, I like 'em both.
Godzilla plots are better than gamera, the only idea of a rocket propulse turtle is very weird, i have to admit that the heisei series of gamera are extraordinary, but godzilla movies has better stories
True, but sometimes the characters were the usual two dimensional stereotypes, the acting wasn't as strong, and the plots seem to do a 180. Some of the heisei movies anyways. And it's a kaiju film, since when is there a Godzilla movie that isn't weird? But it doesn't matter, the two Big G's kick ass!
I beg to differ. Even though I love Godzilla overall more than Gamera, most of the plotlines to Godzilla films are very rushed and more out to entertain and have giant monster mashes than have a real plot and theme. The heisei Gamera films all have not only high production value but a clear plot line. Minus Godzilla vs Destoryah, Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla, and maybe Godzilla vs Mothra, all three Gamera films are better than most of the Godzilla Heisei series, at least in my view.
i agree the gamera(heisei series) come across as having being more entertaining and professional; i do love godzilla films but i have to say with so many directors it only makes sense that they would be a little weak as far going in a general direction
TOHO didn't make the Heisei Gamera Series. DAIEI did. it's just that DAIEI went bankrupt and TOHO bought the rights to the monsters. Oh, and Gamera the Brave wasn't made by TOHO. a company called Kurokusawa did
Ok, so DAIEI owned Gamera through the Showa and Heisei series? Is that what you're saying? Because I knew that already. I meant to say that their last Showa Gamera film was Gamera Super Monster. Daiei was bought by Tokuma, after going bankrupt, and was sold to Kadokawa, which then merged with Daiei to become Kadokawa Daiei Motion Pictures, now just Kadokawa Pictures? I see...
Gamera where produced by Daiei Motion Picture Company in Japan. Created in 1965 to rival the success of Toho Studios Godzilla during the kaiju boom of the mid-to-late 1960s, Gamera has gained fame and notoriety as a Japanese icon in his own right.
