Bad choice of weapons my freind....Springfeild, yes....Thompson, definetly no!, most innacurate and ammo0-wasting weapon in the game. I personally advise the MP40 or the Garand. At least something that conserves ammunition a bit more.

The thompson has more power than the mp40. And has a 50 round drum to accomodate the ammunition. So, it fills it's own problems in.
