The issue really isn't about whether or not 'gay marriage' will undermine 'straight marriage','cause most right-thinking people will have already worked it out,that it WON'T.All these anit-gay marriage morons are trying to do is undermine the LBGTQ's place in the wider community.Two people,regardless of sexuality or gender combination,& if they choose to,should have the right to recognise their partnership in any way they wish.It's NOT a straight prerogative.

I think the problem is that you are labling people gay. People arn't just gay or straight, they are people. You can't just put them in one catagory or the other just because the idea of homosexuality scares you.

Many were outraged by the very idea, even though they weren't related and he never adopted her. But where was the harm? Who was hurt? Was she too young to know what she wanted? Apparently not, since they're still together, and she's quite successful. Yet they had to go to Italy to get married.
Ok, fair enough. Then let me ask a really dumb question for clarification. What rights are being taken away by unfair legislation? As far as I know, marriage has always been defined as a union of man & woman. Plus, this whole idea of gay marriage is relatively new. It is still illegal in most parts of the world, and I've lived in countries where there is a fine for that behaviour.
I'd be surprised if you haven't heard the frequent comparisons made by gays of the black civil rights movement to their current "plight" (a plight which is a product of their definitions & perceptions). I didn't feel it was necessary to bore you with explanations on a familiar topic.
My point is that gays will strenuously deny and disown any cause they feel will drag them down, yet will claim similarity to those deemed helpful to their mission, such as the mentioned movement. Any clearer now?

Marriage was defined by the supreme court as a fundamental right to every citizen of this country. IMO, that means the gay ones as well.
There are may protections that come along with marriage that same-sex couples have a right to as well.
Provide me one good reason why it should not be allowed? If possible, don't base it on any religious beliefs.
I mean really, why is this being debated? Is it REALLY that horrifying to allow two folks that love each other be protected by law?
