  • You just can't beat the sound of a mid muffler setup on a mustang. I don't know why ford went rear mount because it doesn't sound near as good.

  • What track is this?

  • @Corwin10291978 Turagua, Edo. Aragua, Venezuela. I made an rFactor version of it. at turagua . pipiri . com

  • Now that's a car!

  • god DAMN

  • Oh fuck...now i have to change my underwear :/

  • how much did this set up cost?? plz respond

  • This sounds... amazing. Exactly what I plan to get for my 07 GT.

  • @dguertin69 You will not regret it. People will come from all angles asking, "WTF did you do to this car to sound this good?!?" This is the video that made me purchase this same setup. I have a few of my own if you care to check it out.

  • So... good.... instant... boner....

  • Pana que tiempo haces en turagua asi como esta ese carro? saludos

  • @SebyxMass 1.21 (asi como estaba)

  • @litoven Es muy buen tiempo para un mustang casi origuinal, saludos

  • Wht kind of tires were u runnung?, cause they sticked pretty good on the launch!

  • @ColombianRida BFG';s KDW2 285/40/18

  • reminds me of bullit....

  • Very Very nice sound!

  • Hey Litoven.. I have kooks LT header,Xpipe, high flow cats and corsa and i hate the way it sounds.. So i will be going to pypes mid now... thanks ... Do they hang low or bottem out at all ? do have to retune the car with these?

  • @mu171970 Do they hang low or bottem out at all ? Not really, I do not remember ever scratching them out.

do have to retune the car with these? No, not needed.

  • Love your S197! It is nice to see another Mustang owner actually playing on a road course. This is my goal for my 08.

  • very cool man!!!!!!!

  • Thank you very much, the car sounds really good, one of the best if not the best sounding one i have heard yet. I have decided to go with the pypes, are you running the 2.5 or 3" ? I am assuming we need the 2.5"s right? Thanks again

  • Yes, 2.5".

  • Hope you dont mind me asking but, but are you running pypes mufflers or not? Reason i am asking is because i am customizing my cervinis side exhaust system. I am going with Kooks, LT's O/R Xpipe, and cervinis pipes minuis the mufflers. I have all ready to go but the mufflers. Behind the fence abut going with the pypes. Please let me know. I need to take my car out to the street again hahah. Thanks

  • In the video I'm using pypes M80 mufflers that come with their mid muffler system.

You can get just the mufflers from online retailers like Lethal. They come in 2.5 and 3" wide.

One thing is that in O/R system they are going to sound sick but really loud.

  • thats a sik mustang, i like this video of it and i love the way it sounds, whats ur exhaust setup,. i wanna make one myself of my 06 mustang gt

  • Thank you, it was kooks 1 5/8" long tube headers with catted x-pipe and pypes mid pipe muffles.

  • Very Nice! How much are you putting to the ground and what type of gears are you runnning?

  • 300/320, 3.73 FRPP gear.

  • Cleannnnn sounding stang!! Thumbs upppp!

  • What pypes mufflers are you running. Everybody puts "pypes mid muffler" when they have a good set up lol

  • mid muffler systems use m80 mufflers i think

  • man i cant wait to sent mine off to brenspeed. beast system here i come.

  • Damn! Sounds freakin' fabulous! I'd love to talk my son into modding out his '09 to sound like yours! LOL, weird situation, eh?

  • @BlacknBlueDoberMom

    Weird but awesome! :-D

    thanks for the comments.

  • Badass, track all to yourself!

  • best sounding eveeeer !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sounds nice

  • Sounds sexy man.

  • sounds very good!

  • soooo..im guessing the kooks were worth it over anything else?

  • what kind of cats and xpipe

  • God knows I've watched every S197 exhaust video on here, and this is by far the best. Unfortunately I live in an emission testing area so I'm going about this a bit different, with JBA shorties and a magnaflow catted X

But 5 stars isn't enough and the decel sound oh that's like sex for the ears!

  • why would it matter if u have long tubes? I've got this same setup and I absolutely love it. Both this car and mine have a CATTED X. (Beware of pypes fitment though. Still working out all the fitment issues)

  • One of the best sounding mustangs on YouTube-Nice

  • one of the best thats for sure(take out the cats and it will sound even better!!!)..suprised this video doesnt have more views...

  • Could be worse he could have bought a Borla Cat-back 700$ +

  • got to be the most expensive exhaust ive seen yet on a mustang

  • Yes, they are expensive but the quality of the header is incredible, I'm just removing them today :-( because I'm installing a turbo kit with a lot of extra goodies and they are just perfect after close to two years of use, they just got colored with a blueish/brown hue because of the heat.

Can't say the same for many other cheaper headers we've installed in customer cars.

  • can you help me out with something? i have magnaflow mufflers on my car so far and im looking to buy a x-pipe and headers in a couple weeks but im still so lost on a good quality sound that will turn heads. i dont want something annoyingly loud like slp because this is a daily driver.

  • shit. I finally ordered this very exhaust set up just a few hours ago! I would have bought your used set in a heartbeat.

  • By far...the best sounding mustang I have ever heard. WELL DONE!!

Btw, I love how the "car that can't take corners" is racing around a track..

    Beatiful.

  • Hey Harry, you spell it beautiful... lol. And yes, it's an amazing Mustang.

  • Yes, this car can actually take corners pretty well, much better than older models, I made on the track close to the same times I did on my road racer fox with "R" tires.

  • suena belloooo ..

  • awsome car the best sounding mustang i've heard in a while

  • Wow that thing looks fast and sounds amazingly awesome. Props to you!!

  • amazing mustang i just love them i cant wait intil i get my own

  • does anyone else wonder what kooks lt headers/x pipe would sound with slp axleback? or is that not possible?

  • nice heal toe in the corners

  • one word, amazing or wow or rediculous or incredible :)

  • Nice

  • That is EXTREMLLY AWESOME!!!

Shold install that system on my 05 mustang

  • Thats the best sounding s197 I've ever heard.

I've been looking for an exhaust setup for a long time and have been disappointed everytime. Every aftermarked exhaust for these things is either sounds lazy, raspy, or "tinny". (especially at idle)

I know what I'm investing in next spring.

  • DAMN, I'm lovin' your setup. Question: would the LT Kooks Headers "hurt" my car bad if I use it as a daily driver? wished i had a bucket so i can do as many mods to my daily driver as i could.

  • It won't hurt the car in any sense, the only thing that may get hurt is your wallet ;-).

If I were you I would check how strict are laws were you live with emissions, this setup have cats and I have read that you can pass emissions test with them if you prepare well with the help of your tuner and if you drive normally they do not sound that loud too.

    Best of luck.

  • Sounds excellent, man. ESPECIALLY at WOT. I give you 10 stars; 5 for the Stang

and 5 more for the exhaust : )

  • Man... that thing roars!

  • are the kooks LT headers legal in CA thanks it sounds good

  • Nope LT headers aren't legal on the street anywhere I believe, but for sure not in Cali.

  • To my knowledge, they're only illegal if your state/area does visual inspections. Around here they only check for codes/monitor status, so I would be fine. That's IF you keep cats installed in your exhaust though.

  • Did you have a super charger or turbo during this video?

  • No, the complete power related mods are:

-Kooks: LT headers, x-pipe and hiflow cats.

    -Pypes: mid mufflers.

-Steeda CAI, UDP's and CMCV deletes.

    -Brenspeed tune.

    -FRPP: 3.73's.

(and a lot of suspension/brake mods, not power related)

Ah! almost forgot, also have the driver mod. ;-)

I have a 67mmBB turbo kit & 6 speed transmission ready to install. Waiting for a couple of parts to start the installation.

  • i need the full name of every part of exhaust on that car. i wanna put that on my mustang, and when i do, is there anything i need to be concerned about, like, lights turning on, or other stuff?

  • Did those high flow cats keep your obdII light from coming on?

  • Don't know as I installed a tune at the same time but I'm pretty sure that the CEL will lit, because of the config, CATs are further behind, flow more and don get that hot. Also LT's will make it a little leaner too. Get a tuner and a tune with the rears deleted or if you have a predator you can get them disabled.

  • Ok that's what I was afraid of. I have a roushcharger on my 06 gt mustang and since roush retuned the pcm my predator wont work. So I have no way to turn off the rear o2's.

I guess I will just have to take my high flow cats off and put my stock H pipe back on. Thanks for the help.

  • What if you try to find a friendly dealership that can flash your PCM back with the stock calibration and then plug the predator in with a mail tune or tune it in the dyno.

  • I just dont trust any other company to tune my car since they dident build and test the supercharger. That would also void my warranty. My ford dealership here in town who installed the charger told me today that they only can reset the trouble code not turn the sensors off. Roush needs to instruct them how to reset the code without ruining their tune. This should of been verysimple to do with my predator it took me 3 min to do this, I think roush and ford are just legaly in a bind from doingthat

  • anyway good sugestion; I appreciate it.

  • That is BAD FREAKING ASS!!! I think I know what I'm spending my tax rebate on!!

  • This is EXACTLY how I want my 2008 Shelby GT500 Super Snake clone to sound.

"Thank's Im getting them" instead of ugly Flowmasters or expencive Magnaflows

  • And the reason it sounds like Nascar is because they are also limited to small cubes. High-revving at it's best!!

  • Like the sequentials. Just ordered the pypes mid system. Will be setup with JBA longtubes and off road h-pipe. Don't listen to any of the haters. Sure they would love to hear a big-block sound but thats not the sound of small-cube performance. This is!!!!

  • Dude, you gotta have some shitty speakers to think that sounds like a ricer.

  • it does and my speakers sound amazing!

  • I like it, is obvious, is my car. But it is not a muscular sound, a 3V will never sound like a big 2V pushrod engine. I could not call it a ricer, its a V8 with a more racecar like sound. This engine breaths so well and runs so nice in high rpms is very fun. But no, it wont ever sound like an old school V8.

  • if you dont mind me asking but how much total did this setup cost includeing tuning (if needed)... you can message me if you do not want to post it on here

  • PM sent.

  • man i would love to know how much your set up cost too. I think it would really make my 09 roar. send me a message if u could to .

  • its loud which is good, but not a really muscle sound to me, I think muscle sounds are what mustangs are all about IMO. not too bad....

  • It sounds REALLY good

  • Hey Litoven, how do you think it would sound with shorty headers? Do you think there would be a different exhaust tone? Just wondering cuz I already have a high flow catted x and FRPP shorty headers and I was thinking on getting the mid muffler system.

  • I think it would sound good, not the same but good, shorties dont give any hp on this cars (stock headers flow well) but can improve the sound. I think it will sound very close.

  • sounds like nascar at 1:30

  • sounds like a nascar the whole time =P

  • Wonderful sound and tone. I love how "clean" and "smooth" it is. Are the cats making it so smooth or are the headers? Which hi-flo cats did you use?

  • Sounds great man!

  • That sounds excellent.

But how does one go about getting a track all to himself?

  • i have and '06 and have been trying to decide which setup to do. after this i am def goin this route. is the catted x pipe kooks as well?

  • Yes, is the catted version bought from brenspeed as a whole.

  • Damn, THAT SOUNDS GOOD!!!!

  • I think I want the pypes now!

  • I don't think you should, yours sound sick as hell!

  • That back stretch run gives me goose bumps though! Nice downshifting too!

  • no way man, your Magnapacks sound so nice.

  • The big difference is the cats, this system, even catted is quite loud.

I appreciate having the cats on because I park the car in a very closed space and I enjoy not getting back home smelling like crap. With the older car my wife could tell me if I was driving the stang. (It was cammed so the fumes where very raw).

Another thing is the muffler location that changes the tone of the car, the main thing here is the X's, some hate it. I love it, for me, even less muscular, it sounds like a racecar.
