Sheryl Crow is not a performer, she belongs with all those pop people who make great albums (well, with the help of a few computer tweaks) Give Keith a Sheryl Crow song and I bet he would be able to sing it live better than her...without question!

This was my first time seeing this Keith Urban guy... what a showman! Some of the best guitar playing I've seen from a modern country singer. Cheryl's bass tone was really bad though, even if her playing was decent.
I love this song, but I gotta say Sheryl looked a little uncomfortable up there, probably because it was a last minute thing so she didn't have time to rehearse it and get comfortable with the song. It happens, and she did a great job considering.

As a professional she does a nice job cutting out words she doesn't know, but keeps her voice on tune during harmonies over all. Her bass playing is fine. It always has been. Check out her second album, self titled. She can do better than this, but I couldn't estimate the reason why she performed less than her normal.

and to continue my comment...it's hard to sing and play at the same time because you have to sub divide your brain...for a guitar player you have to worry about right and left hand...for a drummer you also have to worry about right and left foot
i bet probably about ninety percent of you people dumping on sheryl haven't even performed musically much less performed on stage....yes she didn't sound too too good but this was the best she could do. she was probably asked at the last minute to do this due to some personal problem that resulted in Keith's bass player having to leave
Well, I have performed on stage, musically, (yes singing) and I really do think she should have worked on it a little more. I'm sure there were other bass players there... when a professional messes up badly on national tv, ppl talk... that's all this is.
At least Keith was gracious and "fixed" the problem. He made the best of a bad situation and he still came out smelling like a rose!! Gotta love that Keith, next time however, Sheryl should practice more with whoever she plans to sing with.
She plays bass on stage with her band on lots of songs! She knows how to play bass and does a very credible job on this song. I think she just didn't know the words. All of you people saying bad things about Sheryl should try playing the bass and singing! It ain't easy!

I think this show was done at the opry house and the sound techs there are notorious for not having the right mixes. I really don't think that Keith intentionally drowned her out
I caught this on tv & I thought Sheryl seemed a little inadequate for her like she may have been intimidated about playing with such a talented artist. She has some good music out & I was actually surprised by her performance...she's better than that! Joni
