Nice! One of the great recordings of mid-'60s garage punk, all post-Jagger sneer and swirling Farfisa riffs. Did I catch a fraction of a second of "Eraserhead" near the beginning of the vid (dancing cooked chicken on a stage)?
Can someone please post the homebrew song : "Hey Baby (I Wanna Know If You'll Be My Girl") by New Zealand Band "The La De Das" ? It was recorded in the early 60's from my knowledge ????
AGH LEGENGARY BAND THE LA DE DAS FROM NEW ZEALAND 1960S BAND THEY RELEASHED 3 LPs 2 EPs AND SEVERAL 45s IN LATE 1967 1968 1969 THERE HOME TOWN WAS AUCKLAND THERE RESIDENT NIGHT SPOT THEN WAS AUCKLANDS THE GALXIE NIGHT CLUB IN CUSTOM ST WEST I WAS 16 THEN N 1967 MY TEENAGE DAYS MAORI BOI PHIL KEYS ON VOCALS N KEVIN BORICH ON LEAD GUITAR ONE OF NEW ZEALANDS TOP BANDS OF THE ERA RIP PHIL KEYS WHO PASSED AWAY IN SYDNEY AUSTRALIA IN 1983 SO SAD STILL THINK ABOUT YOU BRO CUSSIE
Hard to say what the best version is, but I appreciate the swirling organ and being able to hear the lyrics in this version. The Changin' Times original is a bit hard to make out.
if this is the la de da from N Z and settled in Aust..did alot of work around Sydney...ive seen them live many times and they were great. had a great vibe.
I just heard this song for the first time today on a local underground rock show. And all these years I didn't realize the Bangles' 1983 version was a cover!
"What the fuck?" is an expression, I'm pretty sure. Only someone with poor grammar asks what "fuck" is in a sentence like that. And only an idiot interprets it like you do.
