i went to this event - it was my first time and i thought it was brilliant! i am also hoping to go to shelsey and am definately going to oulton. you weren't the one filming near the vw transporter were you?
p.s check out my channel for some videos of the event
@jimcrack1 Apart from the weather, it was a good day. Excellent turnout. Shelsley is usually pretty special for the VSCC days, but I'm guessing Loton Park is closer to you. Definitely worth grabbing any opportunity to see these cars in action.
You are lucky to be in the midlands. I am down in Surrey but I am lucky I live a mile from Brooklands. Curborough 145miles Shelsley 140 Loton 152 Cadwell 275 wiscombe 150 etc
@newsvintage We're spoilt for choice here I think. Loton is 17 minutes away. Shelsley an hour south, Oulton an hour north, Curborough an hour east. Brooklands Museum is pretty good to have on your doorstep though.
@ZR1100C I only recorded a few practice runs and as you say didn't catch Mr Walker's spectacular Darracq. Despite the chilling wind, a fine day out, and thankfully no rain! Hope to enjoy better weather at Shelsley, Loton, etc.
Cold enough to freeze your nuts off it may have been but spare a thought for the drivers who must have oversized nuts and risk getting them caught in some moving part or other. The sound and look of those ancient long-stroke vintage motors only goes to highlight what progress/development has been made over the decades. Great to see and hear them being driven enthusiastically. Thanks for posting.
