  • Feisty1967, calm down. As Russ' PA and friend for many years (including the Madhouse day's, LWT & BBC) I may have been slightly out with my dates, however I will bow to your more superiour knowledge of what happened during this time. God bless for being a fan.

  • @MrBillpriddin Do you know why most of his series has never made it to DVD?

  • @623058 Russ' Management bought the right's to all of the 'madhouse' series and in their wisdom decided not to produce the shows. That's all I know.

  • @MrBillpriddin Maybe we need to complain to his Management team! its shame this or his BBC shows never appeared on GOLD etc

  • Golden days of telly!

  • Was this before or after the Young Ones spoof of UC?

  • @Widmerpool99

Yes indeed, I think this was recorded 1982/3 LWT Production.

  • @MrBillpriddin No, this was the original Saturday Madhouse, recorded 1980 -1981, it later became Russ Abbot's Madhouse in 1982. Previous to that, Russ had appeared in Freddie Starr's Variety Madhouse in 1979, so the Madhouse idea was born out ot that.

  • Very funny, but not very politically correct - you can't show this today!

  • This is kinda funny

  • totally agree , sad we lost him at such a young age

  • Dustin Gee was a genius RIP
