  • what the name of this song?

  • stfuboy. name is sasae.

  • Cool footage, great judokas!

  • I love watching Judo and other martial arts because they take a lot of skill and power. That’s why I love watching Kung Fu movies and was really excited for the release of the new doc “Films of Fury” that just came out on demand. It had some really great martial arts scenes and movie clips!

  • I love Judo but the name is mis-leading(the gentle way). Judo is anything but gentle, it hurts like hell when you get tossed like a rag doll.

  • yo lo practico

  • in the second throw 0:40 feels like he fakes a kick

  • que genial mas de esos............

  • Shomen Ress! Sensei Res!

  • muy bueno

  • Lol at 2:07 they show you how to get away from cops before they cuff you =P ive never seen a criminal/attacker whatever grab someone that way buy its always good to have an extra trick up your sleave that shows it covers quit a bit if not everything =P

  • could someone tell me the name of the throw at 00:42 ?

  • @crossfire1129 I believe it is Ashi garuma, leg wheel.

  • @crossfire1129 Ashi Garuma, or leg wheel

  • @crossfire1129 Id say it was more o guruma (large wheel) than ashi guruma, ashi guruma the outstretched leg is lower on the leg.

  • hola

  • What's the name of the technique that goes after uki goshi (the one where he sweeps both of the opponent's legs)???

  • At what time is th throw?

  • @Andronicus011 I would say it's a combination from o-soto-gari followed by o-soto otoshi (look at the resemblance with tai-otoshi, only then outside, an uke falling backward). Could also be o-soto-guruma, but the ax/turning point of the wheel is lacking (no fixed upper leg / hip contact point) => for me otoshi.

  • @Andronicus011 It doesnt matter what the name is. As long as you can pull it off, thats all that matters.

  • i used to get into this discipline and damn... its so good!

  • Name of throw at 2:12?

  • It's myself throwing my partner with Sasae-tsuri-komi-achi in the (what they call now) Busen-ruy version of Nage-no-kata, then the standard version in The Netherlands, now they converted the standard to the Kodokan Style.

  • Name of throw at 2:12 ?

  • Thumbs up if you love Judo

  • beautiful

  • Why is Judo so unpopular, it's like the best combat sport ever.

  • @SerbianJudo

Because it's not designed to be any close to standard martial arts with all the hype around them. No kicks in face, no bones cracking, that kind of stuff...

Especialy young kids are looking for something to show off, JUDO is not spectacular looking one tbh. Although It's the most effective and possibly fatal ^.^

  • Crackers

  • Judo Is all about technique.

Most ppl compare Judo with Wrestling, wich is BULLSHIT!

    Wrestling ----> Body Building faggots.

Judo ---> Ppl with technique & Art.

  • @BrewForJad

i take offense to that, being both a wrestler and a judoka. the two sports compliment each other greatly, and are actually very similar in some aspects. my wrestling coach is also a judo instructor. the best athletes in both sports are people with technique and artistry.

  • @blues4life67 Being both is Even better bro,but being only a wrestler, can't help much vs someone doing karate.

  • @BrewForJad

    maybe, lol

its not the art, its the artist, my friend

i wouldnt attack my judo sensei if you gave me a gun, a karate master, and he had one hand tied behind his back.

however, i would attack my wrestling coach, hes a lazy a-hole ;)

  • Nice ;]

  • JUDO !!!

    From France.

  • Judo is rad but judo plus bombfunk MC's is just plain awesome!

  • nice!

  • can someone tell me how the girl at the start did the 3rd throw cos she didnt trip him or anything?

  • Would be easier if you gave the time at which it happened, but sometimes you can do a throw just by using your arms

It's more difficult, requires a lot more timing and often strength too

  • if you throw without a sweep, hip etc. its usually just a matter of excessive off balance (kazushi).

  • What time?

  • 49 seconds

  • Its the positioning of the wrist, the body goes where the direction of the wrist is going to prevent it breaking. The throw doesn't naturally happen the victim does it to stop the break.

  • oh true

  • my coach was an olympian. i'd take a a load of low kicks over just one of his throws. and this comes from a fighter in bjj, judo, muay thai, and boxing.

  • kodakan judo is super ill his skills are flawless

  • Judo really helped me in life. It saved me From getting killed from a black person.

  • I am a white male, and you've made the most dumbass comment on youtube this week.

Three black guys kept my sister from getting raped by a white pervert who dragged her into an alley.........YOU RACIST ASSHOLE!!!!

  • ich liebe Judo

  • love 4:50 XD

  • I have green Im (14) x)

  • JUDO!!!! ist hamma geil

  • I've blue and you? (im 13)

  • MMA all the WAY!! Knowing 2 is better than knowing 1!!

  • mightymk, MMA is Mixed Martial Art. judogoit is right having more than one Martial art a Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) can do several stuff in different ways to someone who is just a streetfighter.

  • If you want to stand your ground in a street fight, ; you have to know several martial arts. Exception : Boxers, kickboxers, TKD kas who already train with fist, dodging attacks and stuff. But for a judoka or jiu-jitsuka it is necessary to have much options. How to block a punch you learn in jiu-jitsu, how to throw is judo, how to box is boxing, ... I am a blue belt judo and practiced 2 years Jiu-jitsu and I had an experience with Cystema, a russian martial art. MMa is perfect for street fight.

  • well that just about narrows it down bro

  • MMA is a fight competion, its not an art you actualy train.

different style fighters enter competitions and fight there own fight

  • perhaps you could study judo strikes, if your life is threatened; however angry we may feel at the time, we usually dont want to kill an aggressor. Judo is a gentle but effective art in street fights with joint locks and standing carotid very sensible in defense. It is easier to KO by throwing than striking.

  • nothing is perfect for street fight. there are alot of things mma leaves out. such as weapons defense, multiple attackers. etc

jujutsu should teach you alot more than how to block a punch, it is the forefather of judo afterall.

  • Bomfunk MCs- freestyler

  • music?

    thanks

  • wrong... judo, bjj and any other grappling art is way better than any art including strikes, if you don't believe it check some of the ufc fights with any bjj practicioners or judokas(minotauro, yoshida, rickson gracie, royce gracie,jacare,...)

  • arrogance can be the cause of your death any martial artist knows that 1 art is exactly "better" than another that's why anyone who's serious martial arts should study multiple styles because the age of purist is over. BJJ,Judo are effective no doubt but the thing I don't like about alot of BJJ practitioners is that they think it's the "ultimate" fighting style

  • any martial artist also should know that the age of purist ain't over and will never be because theres a lot more to being a martial artist than taking some of the best techniques out of few arts and mixing them together... I don't expect you to know what I'm talking about if you're into training mma... and please don't get offended by my comment

  • then you can check out the ones where the karate or thai fighters ko'd the grapplers. you need 3 main areas. striking, clinching/wrestling, and ground.

  • That means 2/3 is judo, the other 1/3 is part of cross training

  • the point is, 1 art is not inherently superior to another. and no single art is enough, they are all limited in some way. and if they're not...it's because they're already a combination of multiple arts. sambo for example.

  • Judo is inherently superior to every other art believe me. They just don't teach everything that exists in judo throughout the sport. For example atemi uaza ara not allowed because of the olympics! And usually the ones who actually know judo don't just show it on the net.... The problem with judo is that it takes a lot of time until you reach the point where you are actually good and superior than other arts... IT TAKES A LOT OF TIMES.... IT IS A SPORT MADE FROM THE BEST ONLY FOR THE BEST!

  • nonsense.

  • It's your choice to believe whatever you like my friend...

  • I shall, thanks. I realize they only teach some things in kata. but I still believe no art is inherently superior to another. judo is better at some things, muay thai is better at other things. it all really boils down to personal preference to me. that's like saying judo has never been beat and we all know that's completely untrue :)

  • yep it's a good martial art and it takes a long time before being a master but in my opinion it's not superior to the other martial arts because each is different.

I'm a judoka and i love this sport but I think every martial arts are strong. no one dominate and no one is dominated

  • JUDO- IT'S NOT FOR SISSIES OR PUNKS!!!

  • dude?

    yes it is

  • 99ybe99: You are either trying to be a comedian or your being a smartass. You obviously have never had extensive Judo training.

Judo is probably THE roughest martial art on this planet. Judo is a roughass sport. I've studied BJJ, Sambo, and Muay Thai, and Judo is rougher- Hands down!

If you're not a comedian, please grow up, stop jerking off, grow some balls, and act like a thinking human being.

  • uhm, i understand that judo is rougher than bjj, sambo.. but rougher than muay thai? hah, i prefer a stupid throw than an elbow or a knee to the face...

  • "Stupid throw"....I've seen people become paralyzed by "stupid throws". Broken necks, fractured skulls, broken shoulders, and some people have died because of the impact from "stupid throws".

You are an idiot. Reasoning with a fool like you is an utter waste of my precious time.

  • dude, a knee to the face is almost a pleasure compared to some throws. Often in Muay Thai fights there is no protective equipment on fighters knees and elbows, and they still use them and keep on fighting. A good judo throw on a hard surface, without the mats can easily be fatal.

  • Agreed, anyone who hasnt been thrown hard, or anyone who doesnt know how to fall simply doesnt understand truly how devastating a judo throw can be. Key word can... depends on the throw. I had a guy at my dojo throw me about a year ago, big tough guy, got me with an o uchi gari, he pretty much lifted me with my lapel and then reaped my leg... i hit so hard, even with slapping, and falling properly i hit my head hard enough to see stars.. and that was on a soft mat.

  • @khunag especially if they don't know how to fall.

  • @khunag lol seoi nage on concrete is fatal...probably

  • A good judoka throws his opponent into the ground at approx 100 mph and the only thing that gives is the opponents body, ribs, collar bone easily smashed, try and punch me in the face then.. get inside the arms of a boxer and its night night Mr Boxer!!!

  • oi for all little kids and...black people????wtf lol then heaps of photos of white people and white crowds....riiiight...

  • what's the big deal? All you gotta do is trip the guy - that's not all that big of a deal. meanwhile - some dude will be punching the fuck outta your face.

  • Judoka's have faster reflexes than the 'dudes' who wanna punch you in the face, be4 your hand reachers my face, i'll have your legs and you'll be in the sky high and back on the ground with a broken back be4 you know it ;)

  • Rubbish - that is just plain erroneous. You only have to have common sense to know that knowing judo doesn't make you faster then someone who boxes or kickboxes. What makes you fast is the athleticism of the individual. So you can have someone who doesn't even practice judo or boxing but they still may be faster. Judo and boxing is the mechanics but it doesn't make you fast all on your own.

  • punch only has to arrive at your face-to throw somebody you have to grab them - touch them THEN throw them too so there's no way possible a judo throw can be quicker then a punch. It's physically impossible. You wouldn't know anyways if all you do is judo as then you don't have people throwing punches at you. Many fighters know how to punch AND throw. Judo is limited to just throwing so it's not as good - or fast as someone that can strike with hands and also throw. it's not debatable.

  • I did Judo 8 years. It's the best sport of the world!

    The Vid. is great!

  • With all due respect, I must say Judo isn't a 'sport'. It's a martial art. Referring to it as merely a sport is insulting to other judokas.

    -Denny♥

  • I'm sorry. I didn't know that. I won't isult sb. My english isn't very good so maybe you misconceived it.

    I'm sorry :]

  • Haha, naw! I'm just sensitive about that! ^^"

    -Denny♥

  • lol I assume you don't like ebing called a Judo player either then?

  • I'd prefer judoka, =))

  • lol I'm the same way.

  • Judo is a sport...

  • I train kyokushin, but I respect judo and I'm planning to train both of this martial arts in the future

  • I am new to bjj and finds it to be very fun. You learn practical, useful, and neat-looking moves almost anyone can do from the first day. In Robert Drysdale Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, I am getting bjj training under Robert Drysdale, multiple time bjj world champion. Visit his official website, RobertDrysdale. Net to watch his videos.

  • the stupid song just dont go with it

  • 8 years of judo :D

  • 12 years for me :]

  • Maybe you are talking of jujitsu.

  • 8 years of judo (L)

  • song: freestyla - bomfunk mc's :)

  • whats the song?

  • Japanese Jujitsu....haha, hillarious

  • How?

  • jodo rocks:) I take judo lessons in this vid its grazy yeah but actually if u start this that really painful if sb throws u but if u fall often then it´ not painful... I have done judo 3 years orange belt:D

  • doing karate-jutsu myself :) i dont know if its supposed to be, but where i do it, karate-jutsu is a combination of kick-boxing (kicks and punches) judo (throws) and ju jutsu (some stuff from there too, dont know what :P)

  • Ok for pure judo you can doubt about the technique at 2.10 (because of the wrist lock) but al other techniques you can find (as variation) in the judo kata's. And the origin of the kata's is the different jj-schools Kano visited: indeed Jiu-jitsu.

So exept 1 technique it's for me no problem to say this is judo... What your teacher teaches you doesn't have to be the same. Maybe he just teaches you only a part of judo. Then I would say look around. There is a lot more fun in judo world.

  • Man, I can't wait till I start Judo. I'm a stand up fighter, but hopefully I will try to get a understanding of this martial arts too.

    Respect to all.

  • It's fun but if you are weak minded, you are gonna give up after a few throughs

  • Oh, I'm far from that my friend.

  • That's good. You're one of the few who don't give up on the first try.

  • the best of JUDO...

    Exellent video.

  • realy nice pic's ;)

  • That jiu-jitsu. Judo has no techniques on wrists.

  • Judo came from JJ

  • True. The trailer says Judo clip, however. In reality it is a mix of pure jiu-jitsu (no judo) and some judo.

  • JJ came from Judo

  • =S, I hope your not serious.

  • Judo came from JJ, my bad

  • ahhahahahhahahhhahahahahahah judo came from jj hahahahaha = google-> wikipedia and learn

  • lol omg, you didn't know Judo came from Japanese Jiu Jutsu, lol what a dumbass

  • Excellent video. I really believe that judo is a dangerous part of MMA.

  • sometimes yeah its dangerous but its very usefull

  • im thinking of taking up judo for self-defence purposes i just wanted to know if its worthwile doing? Thanks.

  • I think it's very worthwhile as long as you complement it with some striking techniques. You need both grappling and striking for effective self-defense. My opinion is that you should learn basics of one and stick to the other for your entire life. I'm a karate guy myself, but I've taken a little BJJ and just started judo. Stick with whatever you enjoy the most for the rest of your life, but try to pick up other things along the way, too.

  • In The Netherlands maybe 80% of the judoka's is below 20. They like to fight. When they become certain age they stop because randori and tournaments are no more interesting or they think it's more dangerous, while they have to work the next day. I think you can keep a lot of those judoka's when judo teach them a self defense style, from the ancient judo.

  • There is a lot of striking in the "old" judo, see the kata's. It's a pity nobody knows them anymore. I think especially for older judoka's (above 20s) with no competition in mind, we have to go back to the old style to keep judo interesting for them.

  • 4;29;30 ASHI-GURUMA

  • lucky for you (at least in judo) our judo isn't what it could be

  • Judo is the best martial art in the wordl :D :D :D \O/ \O/ . Judo to najlepszy sport walki na świecie :D :D :D \O/ \O/ .

  • Brilhante

  • the part judo the sport is the best part

  • judo wymiata i tyle:p

  • Best Martial Art EVER

  • not my FaVOURITE martial art, but got 2 respect it!!!

  • judo é fixe mas muay thai ainda é mais...

  • 0;44 o-guruma, bella tecnica, sensei kano, 4 ever.

  • it's a harai goshi, not o-guruma. But the technique is great!!:)

  • I would say O-Guruma or Big Wheel with the leg is in the centre and uke turning around it. When you look good then you see that the right foot stays in the same place during the throwing action.

For Harai-Goshi you would need a Harai/ Barai or mowing action. The leg doesn't go from front to back in a mowing movement, so it is not Harai-Goshi.

    Also
