No ones going anywhere but 6 feet under. The shits hitting the fan at an alarming rate and human kind CANNOT coexist in harmony. It seems possible for more civilized countries but look around at the rest of the world. I hope theres truth in a 2012 theory, in a second coming of crist or muhamed, an apocalypse. Just to have the satisfaction of knowing there is a point to life. "Certainly hope we will, I sure could use a vacation"
There's gotta be some other 'type' pf living shit out there in one of those galaxies...there has too..i mean...would you work on one model, or if you were god, work on ten hundred models? fuck it why not
Its like two flees arguing whos knows more about the dog they live on. They don't know jack shit they live and die in a week and the dog keeps on going for years.
People think that in their short life time they are going to come up with all the answers to all the questions about a universe that has been around for billions of years maybe trillions hell whos really knows how long it has been? No one does, but it had definatly been a whole hellof alot longer than our little lives. so get over it and drop the ego people.
I never said stop learning and asking questions. I'm saying people need to stop acting like they have all the answers and know all the universe and its origins. you can learn and study all you want, thats good but at least have the courage to admit you don't know everything. So YOU can fuck off
Why can't people just engoy the amazing wonders of the Universe in peace. Does it really matter what started it all or how it came about? No. Just be happy you even exist. So what if A God Created it all or that it is the result of some Big Bang, does it really matter that you know the answers? I say no it doesn't. How can a person think know all about the universe and its origins when a persons life is so short in comparison to the life of the universe.
Because people need answers and it's natural and healthy to ask questions. An inability to question things is a weakness and to not ask questions and not find answers is foolish.
@LennyTheLeper Why can't faith and science be as one...Every endeavor that moves us forward as humankind has and always will take a leap of faith and the ultimate goal for both is finding truth.
Learning never stops, and this is the field that proves it at best, and if some of you still belive in god or "higher power" whatever floats your boat, don't you think that IF god made so many planets and so many stars he would want us to travel'em and meet our "Brothers?" oh no wait, we can't even get over killing our own human brothers, it's a world in which we all could live decent lives, but trough history the nobles (aka politicians + economy fools) and the clergy made the masses poor...
@matrixch88 Your reasoning is very short sighted. You are looking at HERE and NOW. You have no idea what space travel will be like in 50, even 20 years. Think about the Apollo missions -- 50 years before we landed on the moon, no one even imagined the technology that was needed for that. In 50 years, someone may work out a way to travel faster than the speed of light. If God wants man to travel the stars, he will give someone the knowledge to build the technology needed. Just my $0.02... :)

The Hubble ultra deep field was said to be the image of an almost microscopic patch of sky. Some estimates put the number of galaxies they found at far over 10,000. All the galaxies they found were basicly fully formed and not developing. God is truly an awsome God, he deserves all the glory.
Yea... when we look into the space we look into the past... because light needs its time to reach us.
Now, if there is intelligent life out there, who manages to travel faster then light speed, then they are doing a timetravel! They would probably see more and more of the past of their galaxy/sun system the longer the travel(that is faster then lightspeed) takes.
It is my opinion-all of these galaxies will go on to produce more amazing stars. All of these Stars are bound to the same rules that govern our Sun.. or star. As Time as it may be called goes on.. great changes will take place producing planets and moons and comets and the like. If you feel that we are alone your correct... But just because other SENTIENT beings will undoubtedly never know or understand us or reach us does not mean they do not exist. We are not alone... and yet we are alone. :)
I'm sure that life exists throughtout the universe. But the universe is a big place. Now the question, Is there intelligent life within a reasonable distance to us so that in a few hundred years the civilizations could meet? The odds are no. To have similarly advanced lifeforms within a relatively short distance(100 Light Years)would have a very low probability. And since the existance of radio waves(about 100 years)an intelligent civilization would have to be within 100LY to even know we exist.
Just face it we are stuck on this galaxy for ever even if something (a probe) did go it would take 5 billion years to go out far enough to see the whole milky way's full spiral
Yes, my dilemma too. Even if we find life out there, we would not be able to reach it, and quite frankly, why would we want to? We would wipe them all out with germs or vice versa. IMO, just knowing and observing from afar is enough.
When you look out into space, they say you see millions or even billions of galaxies. Also the farther out you look, the farther backin time you'll see. I have a different thought. I think there aren't as many galaxies as we think. Yes we are seeing back in time so I think one of those galaxies we see is our own Milky Way as it appeared a billion years ago. Maybe we are seeing our Milky Way several times but just farther back in history.
The only reason why we are looking back in time at far distance is because the light hasn't reached us yet.
This means that if we were able to see our own galaxy back in time it has to travel faster than lightspeed through space. And the Milky Way only travel at app. 100 miles per second.
Maybe I can explain better. Light particles travels out from our galaxy. We know that even light bends around a gravity source. If our light particles were bent enough to be reflected back to us, wouldn't it be possible, we could be seeing ourselves from different angles at various stages of developement times. Each showing up as different galaxy images.
Take an simple example. Suppose you have 2 galaxies 2 Mil light years apart. Multiple light particles from Gal 1 is seen at Gal 2 and appears 2 Mil years old. Now some of those light particles are bent by Gal 2's gravity back to Gal 1 and presto, we see another spiral galaxy 4Mil LY's away and 4 Mil Years old coming from what appears to be close to or behind Gal2. This might happen many times since light particles travels out from a source in all directions possibly producing multiple images.
And just to drive the point home, we know how galaxies are moving away from each other and about redshift. In this instance, for each LY the two galaxies seperate, it would appear our 4Mil year old phantom is moving away at double the speed. Currently scientist see the farther a galaxy is the faster it moves away from us using redshift. The reality may be that, in some cases, we may be redshifting away from ourselves.
And I'm not saying that we are just seeing The Milky Way many times. We could be seeing 1000's of our closer neighbors as some of there light particles are bent by more distant galaxy clusters back to us.
this couls be possible. massive objects "bend" spacetime. thats why you get phenomena like gravitational lensing, whereby we can "see" Star B. when it is directly behind Star A. The light is being "bent around" the massive object due to gravity. so if all the stars and galaxies are "bending" light from other stars, then the universe is kinda like a "house of mirrors", if you will.
Thank you. At least someone else is capable of abstract thinking. Actually, the idea came to me when I was reading something about gravitational lensing. Imagine some of the many galaxies we can see are the same one but earlier versions of itself the farther away it appears. Galaxies travel through space and time and evolve but depending on where you are in space in relation to that galaxy, it's entire history will be visable all the way back to it's original dust cloud. Cool Huh?
or...what if the photons from our galaxy are being projected outwards, bending around a myriad of other celestial bodies, and then being "reflected" all the way back to us so we see "our" galaxy somewhere out there but it appears to just be some "other" galaxy 500 million light years away? the universe is pretty crazy...
That's exactly my point. We could be seeing our own Milky Way and many of our closer neighbors at different distances and at different angles at various stages of development all the way back to the original dust clouds and quazars. If that is true, it would dramtically change the way we have to view our universe and measure time and space.
How about the fact that you are made up of tiny photons every thing your have ever been and done is speeding across space ..Like a planet that can be traced back to a dust cloud your journey too is written across the stars for all who wear the right glasses to read . Your actions define who you are .your actions shape the universe .Peace
I don't believe God is an individual in the sense of a being as we might expect it. Hence "praying" like many do seems pointless. A higher collective conscience might be possible, and so is the utter absence of it. *Especially* Christianity and Islam are way to earthly and simplistic, more like a tool to manipulate people. Too bad we can't communicate with the vast other civilizations out there. Maybe quantum theory stuff perhaps will break the light speed barrier?
I don't believe that there are other civilizations out there, even if there was there would just be only a handful. The chance of life out there is actually pretty high. Now when I mention life, I mean just very basic life such as bacteria, not complex humans like us...
if there was a life out there. Do you think they'd be hiding from us? How can we be sure that life needs oxygen and water. It could even just pop out of a wet sock
I agree with you here eye4me. On a higher dimentional plane the consciousness (or the sole if you will) could be attracted and fused to a three dimentional being until freed by death just like the Earth held by gravity to the sun. The actual sole can be a form of energy bound by the same rules as any energy source in the fact that it can't be distroyed. Once freed by death it can find another being by gravitational attraction. This could explain the interesting phenomenon of reincarnation.
Now, imagine what we could find in billions of those constellations? There should be civilizations in differents stages of evolution, some of them more advanced than us and some less evolved. Separated for great distances.
It is for certain that God exists, but it is very different to the one we believe. Considering that there are billions of stars in each constellation, and each one with a high probability of planets orbiting and at least one planet of each star with similar characteristics to our planet, I consider that should be millions if it's not billions of civilizations just in our galaxy.
yeah man but listen, im not an athiest, but what they do makes some sense, 'the universe was eternity'. Because if you say there was a creator, there is always the question who created that creator?
mat740 - scientists haven't yet had a couple billion years to try to recreate "life". Life at its earliest stages was just amino acids and stuff coagulating, reforming, duplicating. It's all chemistry. That chemistry has been recreated in the labs. Maybe you should know what you're talking about before denouncing it.
i think thats because in the darkest parts, the tiny bits of light which come through can still be captured by the lens, in this dark part, their light won't get blocked by other bright objects
Wow! So, as the technology advance, the Hubble will reach a point in which it will look so far in the universe that it will actually look the Big Bang! Amazing!
there is no other life forms.. even on earth with perfect conditions to support life, the original process has never been recreated.. why is not life continually being created spontaneously here on earth? why can't scientists create life in the lab? it is because there is no sustitute for the almighty creator
for me it's more likely to believe there are other lifeforms and civilizations out there, than believing in a God which man created himself to gain power and money (church-institution in Medieval times) they even created a hell to scare the people even more.
That is scary. After seeing that, how can ANYONE deny the existance of other lifeforms out there, I mean LOOK at how many other galaxies are out there. Just amazing.
How clever is Hubble telescope and how fast does it travel?... what I'm trying to say is that if I fart with any force, my images are fucked!

The Hubble Altra Deep Feild was taken of one of the most bare and ordinary places in the sky, smaller than a grain of sand help at arm's legth.
The resulting picture displayed tens of thousands of full galaxies.
The current farthest reaches of space ever observed registered a diameter of more than 160 billion lightyears.

The Hubble ultra deep field was said to be the image of an almost microscopic patch of sky. Some estimates put the number of galaxies they found at far over 10,000. All the galaxies they found were basicly fully formed and not developing. God is truly an awsome God, he deserves all the glory.

Hebrews 1:2
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
Hebrews 11:3
3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Yea... when we look into the space we look into the past... because light needs its time to reach us.
Now, if there is intelligent life out there, who manages to travel faster then light speed, then they are doing a timetravel! They would probably see more and more of the past of their galaxy/sun system the longer the travel(that is faster then lightspeed) takes.
baldwin666 3 years ago
It is my opinion-all of these galaxies will go on to produce more amazing stars. All of these Stars are bound to the same rules that govern our Sun.. or star. As Time as it may be called goes on.. great changes will take place producing planets and moons and comets and the like. If you feel that we are alone your correct... But just because other SENTIENT beings will undoubtedly never know or understand us or reach us does not mean they do not exist. We are not alone... and yet we are alone. :)
Romney2005 4 years ago
I'm sure that life exists throughtout the universe. But the universe is a big place. Now the question, Is there intelligent life within a reasonable distance to us so that in a few hundred years the civilizations could meet? The odds are no. To have similarly advanced lifeforms within a relatively short distance(100 Light Years)would have a very low probability. And since the existance of radio waves(about 100 years)an intelligent civilization would have to be within 100LY to even know we exist.

There needs to be an ending
the ending needs a ending but what is the real
ending
it needs to stop somewhere.....

Just face it we are stuck on this galaxy for ever even if something (a probe) did go it would take 5 billion years to go out far enough to see the whole milky way's full spiral
andy375 4 years ago 2
Yes. I had recently thought the same thing. We are in galactic entrapment. Just going to the Andromeda Galaxy would take about 750,000,000 years.
FionaTheFox 3 years ago
Yes, my dilemma too. Even if we find life out there, we would not be able to reach it, and quite frankly, why would we want to? We would wipe them all out with germs or vice versa. IMO, just knowing and observing from afar is enough.

It's funny that our sense of size of the universe just keeps growing when we understand it more.

Maybe we are seeing our Milky Way several times but just farther back in history.
mickeysears 4 years ago
yea. i never thought about that. Isn't it possible that someone can be looking at our own earth in the future (their "present")?
neilzeil 4 years ago
That is not possible.
The only reason why we are looking back in time at far distance is because the light hasn't reached us yet.
This means that if we were able to see our own galaxy back in time it has to travel faster than lightspeed through space. And the Milky Way only travel at app. 100 miles per second.
Daencker 4 years ago
Maybe I can explain better. Light particles travels out from our galaxy. We know that even light bends around a gravity source. If our light particles were bent enough to be reflected back to us, wouldn't it be possible, we could be seeing ourselves from different angles at various stages of developement times. Each showing up as different galaxy images.
mickeysears 4 years ago
Take an simple example. Suppose you have 2 galaxies 2 Mil light years apart. Multiple light particles from Gal 1 is seen at Gal 2 and appears 2 Mil years old. Now some of those light particles are bent by Gal 2's gravity back to Gal 1 and presto, we see another spiral galaxy 4Mil LY's away and 4 Mil Years old coming from what appears to be close to or behind Gal2. This might happen many times since light particles travels out from a source in all directions possibly producing multiple images.
mickeysears 4 years ago
And just to drive the point home, we know how galaxies are moving away from each other and about redshift. In this instance, for each LY the two galaxies seperate, it would appear our 4Mil year old phantom is moving away at double the speed. Currently scientist see the farther a galaxy is the faster it moves away from us using redshift. The reality may be that, in some cases, we may be redshifting away from ourselves.
mickeysears 4 years ago
And I'm not saying that we are just seeing The Milky Way many times. We could be seeing 1000's of our closer neighbors as some of there light particles are bent by more distant galaxy clusters back to us.
mickeysears 4 years ago
you are so wrong my dear friend...
masterleo007 4 years ago
I didn't make 4 long comments just to be told I'm wrong in one sentence. Prove that what I suggest is not possible.
mickeysears 4 years ago
this couls be possible. massive objects "bend" spacetime. thats why you get phenomena like gravitational lensing, whereby we can "see" Star B. when it is directly behind Star A. The light is being "bent around" the massive object due to gravity. so if all the stars and galaxies are "bending" light from other stars, then the universe is kinda like a "house of mirrors", if you will.
eye4me 4 years ago
Cool Huh?
mickeysears 4 years ago
or...what if the photons from our galaxy are being projected outwards, bending around a myriad of other celestial bodies, and then being "reflected" all the way back to us so we see "our" galaxy somewhere out there but it appears to just be some "other" galaxy 500 million light years away? the universe is pretty crazy...
eye4me 4 years ago
That's exactly my point. We could be seeing our own Milky Way and many of our closer neighbors at different distances and at different angles at various stages of development all the way back to the original dust clouds and quazars. If that is true, it would dramtically change the way we have to view our universe and measure time and space.
mickeysears 4 years ago
This universe is a mind boggling mess.
Saruzu 3 years ago 2
Read my earlier posts. That's how I started my explanation. I wrote the same in other videos and I was pretty much told I was nuts.
mickeysears 4 years ago

Maybe quantum theory stuff perhaps will break the light speed barrier?
a1mint 4 years ago
I don't believe that there are other civilizations out there, even if there was there would just be only a handful. The chance of life out there is actually pretty high. Now when I mention life, I mean just very basic life such as bacteria, not complex humans like us...
Fidokrab 4 years ago
With SO MANY galaxies, and you think we´re the only civilization? I feel sorry for you.
Why would we be all alone?
fuckincancer 4 years ago 2
if there was a life out there. Do you think they'd be hiding from us? How can we be sure that life needs oxygen and water. It could even just pop out of a wet sock
MaiL0MaN5 4 years ago
consciousness and life could just be a property of this universe, like gravity.
eye4me 4 years ago
I agree with you here eye4me. On a higher dimentional plane the consciousness (or the sole if you will) could be attracted and fused to a three dimentional being until freed by death just like the Earth held by gravity to the sun. The actual sole can be a form of energy bound by the same rules as any energy source in the fact that it can't be distroyed. Once freed by death it can find another being by gravitational attraction. This could explain the interesting phenomenon of reincarnation.
mickeysears 4 years ago
I've always believed in reincarnation to an extent. What drew me to it was the fact that energy can not be destroyed.

what will we see if wil look even farther(back in time) ? big bang ? ore...
lindekspatrickaa 4 years ago
Now, imagine what we could find in billions of those constellations? There should be civilizations in differents stages of evolution, some of them more advanced than us and some less evolved. Separated for great distances.
zappachess1 4 years ago 2
It is for certain that God exists, but it is very different to the one we believe. Considering that there are billions of stars in each constellation, and each one with a high probability of planets orbiting and at least one planet of each star with similar characteristics to our planet, I consider that should be millions if it's not billions of civilizations just in our galaxy.
zappachess1 4 years ago
yeah man but listen, im not an athiest, but what they do makes some sense, 'the universe was eternity'.

They keep zooming in on the darkest part of the picture. Thats the impressive part to me.
somedirtyhippie 5 years ago
i think thats because in the darkest parts, the tiny bits of light which come through can still be captured by the lens, in this dark part, their light won't get blocked by other bright objects

Wow, that's great! Now that Hubble is getting a new camera (called the Wide Field Planetary Camera 3), it will be able to take a far "deeper" image!

Wow! So, as the technology advance, the Hubble will reach a point in which it will look so far in the universe that it will actually look the Big Bang! Amazing!

just imagine the other life out there at this moment in time, incredible, yet religious nutters deny all this exists.
ih8communism 5 years ago
there is no other life forms.. even on earth with perfect conditions to support life, the original process has never been recreated.. why is not life continually being created spontaneously here on earth? why can't scientists create life in the lab? it is because there is no sustitute for the almighty creator
mat740 5 years ago
out of the billions of galaxies out there, you think earth is the only one with life forms?
Frankiexxxafied 5 years ago
for me it's more likely to believe there are other lifeforms and civilizations out there, than believing in a God which man created himself to gain power and money (church-institution in Medieval times) they even created a hell to scare the people even more.
musback 4 years ago
I'm religious and I don't deny that life on other planets. I think it has a very high possibility of exsisting.
