  • cool short movie

  • Hey, good job!! I liked it! :)

  • There's obviously a bunch of stuff in the labyrinth part of the house, it's an ordinary suburban house, and Navidson says that he was curious what it would be like if a family was in that scenario, or whatever. None of that is accurate to the book, in which the labyrinth part of the house is completely empty and featureless, it's a house that dates back hundreds of years in the Virginia countryside, and they're making the film as a home movie about their house until it goes horribly wrong.

  • still trying to wrap my head around the book, this has created some intrigue, won't give up now

  • This book would only be decent in the hands of a visionary with some J.J. Abrams-esque filmstyle.

  • For a school project, it's actually pretty impressive. The acting is pretty good, and you carry the symbolism over into the trailer pretty well, especially with the SOS signal.

  • Nice job-my friend said they were making the movie several years ago, but I never saw anything about it.

  • They really need to make this book into a movie!!!!!

  • Wow, this was pretty awesome. I read the book, and I've been waiting for a movie to come out, but I know it would ruin it. Anyways, great job, loved it. :D

  • I never imagined Johnny like this...

  • HAHAHAHA... OK, like really, come on. is this how we see johnny, or even navidson, as this kid? no

  • Great "teaser"

  • Question, where's the spiral staircase? XD

  • @jamieboyrockon

Why'd they put that in the trailer?

  • I liked this a lot. It's true, it would have helped if the actors were older, but ah well.

  • I enjoyed this a lot. Well done.

  • Actors are much too young and contemporary. The feel of the bock is not here. Also, there is not movie...yet.

  • gave me the chills very good :)!

  • This was a school project lol

  • It's fake.

    In the

THIS PREVIEW HAS BEEN APPROVED part,

    the "B" isn't capitalized.

  • hahh yeah, thanks =D

  • @asapike Really? Is something wrong with you?

  • that was really well done. Very good dramaturgy.

  • Very nice. I love how you added the S.O.S signal. Will would be proud of that.

  • oh yeah! I didn't even realize that! Now that I do, yeah, that was pretty cool.

  • thanks a lot!

  • fuck no,

  • Heavily flawed (stiff readings, and y'all are way too young, lol) but this is a great effort. I respect that you guys even tried to tackle something as weird & intimidating as "House of Leaves".

  • ouch

  • lol "Karen...Karen"

  • I'm in the middle of the book, should I finish the book and then watch this or would this not ruin anything for me?

  • Read the book. Wait a month. Go crazy.

  • It doesn't take a month to go crazy from this book. its a insta-nutcase formula. in a good way.

  • I thought it was a very well put together piece but I do have one thing to say as a friendly critique....whoever was doing the voice over, I'm assuming it was the person that will read this, you sound like you WERE reading. It didn't sound genuine AT ALL. Don't READ the words from the page.....FEEL them, as if you had actually EXPERIENCED them. Only thing I saw/heard that could use improvement! ^_^

  • In other words, the only thing that required any acting ability sounded like acting. Good point.

  • AWESOME. It's clear you put a lot of thought and work into it. Great job! ^_^

  • Yeah, my was also a school video project, hence the cast being of different race/gender/disability of the book. the film was shown in a blacked out room with us interjection material of our own throughout the whole thing. HOL=good stuff :-)

  • well thanks. I don't mind critique so go right ahead. I'd like to hear what you have to say, so I can get better. I just hate people who are assholes about it. The thing at the end was originally an outtake but we left it in because we felt it would catch people off guard. And Karen's Asian because she was the girl in my group lol it was after all a school project

  • Yea...I wanna critique this thing so badly, but I know I'll look like an asshole if I do. It's just I read the book eight times, so I'm pretty much obsessed with it. I'm currently reading it for the ninth time. I'm at The Wait. But I will say one thing, what the hell was that last thing after the end title? Anyway, as far as homemade adaptations go, this one was pretty good. Oh, and I don't think Karen was Asian.

  • I love the end titles, btw. Oh, and was someone wearing a Santa hat? ^__^

  • haha umm i don't think so, when did you see it?

  • Around 1:31. :o)

  • haha oh no that's just a snow hat, but it kinda looks like one though ;)

its supposed to be really cold inside the maze

  • Very nice attempt.

It wasn't spectacular, but I certainly enjoyed it.

It got better as it progressed.

I couldn't see a House of Leaves movie, but I could definitely see a Navidson Record movie

  • That's probably the best fan-made adaptation I've seen so far. (:

  • thanks a lot!! It took a lot to put together; I appriciate it!

  • I agree! You were very true to the book! *applauds*

  • How did you do the two color titles at the end.

  • this looks like its a school project...wait. oh!

  • Great job. Fuck the naysayers, this is a fine interpretation--one of the best I've seen on YouTube.

  • this is so annoying come on

  • Dude shut the fuck up. Damn book nazi.

  • Wow. Very well done video. Excellent job! Can't wait for the movie ;)
