@rakakakarakakaka Kenpachi is strong yeah, he can beat some captains but not all of them. The problem with Kenny is that he cannot use his sword unlike the other captains. We saw Kenny have a hard time against the 5th Espada while Kyoraku beat the 1st with little difficulty. Going of that Kyoraku is much stronger than Kenny and we have'nt even seen his Bankai yet. They only way Kenny would compete with someone like Kyoraku, Uikate or Yama-jii is if he learnt how to release his sword.

Kyoraku fought against an Espada who was so beat down by the other three he fought, that Lillinette died. Not to mention that Stark didn't even care to fight, and the Kyoraku had to cheat to win.
Kyoraku is stronger than Kenny, but it's not a clear cut victory.

why is komamura so much stronger in the earlier episodes pf bleach but weak as hell in the recent episodes. I always thought of him as one of the strongest and also thought there was more behind his bankai as his shikai sends out wave tremors.
His Shikai summons a part of the giant. So if he would swing his sword, a gigantic hand with a sword would appear above him to strike his opponent. It was just poorly drawn in the anime but in the manga, it's way more clear.

His Shikai summons a giant fist or giant sword or a giant something from his Bankai giant. So if he would swing his sword horizontally, a gigantic sword would appear, doing the same movement. Read this fight in the manga for a better view of it.
Ken was on the side of the main character at this point in the arc. The writers obviously put him in god mode. During this scene he could have beaten old man yama, Aizen, all 10 espada, all 9 tailed beasts, the entire akatsuki, Voltron, Spike from cowboy bebop and anybody else. No way ken supposed to win that particular fight, but he was on the side of the star and was in god mode so he wins no matter if he would normally lose. I WOULD have liked to see the fight between him and Komamura though.

Kenpachi is crealry one of the strongest captains of gotei, with his masive reiatsu, love for battle and insane strenght he could crush most of the captains.
Come on people. This is a cartoon and like most cartoons, the most popular ones are the ones the writers make the most powerful. If you take popularity out of the equation there is no way TK writes that BS about how ken-chan survives Tousen's bankai. We are supposed to believe Tousen managed to cut him in the shoulder 3 times but didn't think "let me just cut his head off but a flash step fueled slice". Out of 13 caps i say ken-chan is the 8th strongest cap.
I think ken-chan stands no shot against old man yama, unohana (yes I think unohana would give him the business EASILY) I think she's the human version of a bankai, she only come out when turn the tide. Either Ukitaki or Shunsui beat him with little problem as well. Obviously Aisen can beat him. And if you take the popularity out of it I think Tousen beats him easily with the bankai cause TK actually lets him kill Ken while helpless instead of cutting his shoulders like b4. So that's 7th not 8th
Also, Ken defeated a "mid level" Arrancar without Bankai or hollowfication and obviously had power to spare. The only reason he hasn't achieved Bankai is because it hasn't happened yet. Ishida lost his Quincy powers "forever", until he got them back, and grew even stronger. It's simply idiotic to assume something that doesn't fit with what we've seen happen versus what we're told will happen or is possible. Class dismissed.
1he is not going to learn bankai he does not train and the only way to obtain bankai is you have to learn it. 2 once Aizen dies bleach will end, so that little fantasy you have has a time limit. Bleach is all about match ups, even though he defeated espada 5 that does not mean he can beat espada 6,7, or 8. How about you kook at kenpachi stat sheet before you make a statement about him.

Kenpachi was able to beat Nnoitra because he was exactly the same kinda fighter as he is. 7 and 8 have special abilities and the only way they died is because they had the most unfortunate opponent. Zomari can control things--> Byakuya has too much things to control

Yeah, that is a true fact, even when Nnoitra went to his release form, Kenpachi was able to hold him off, and even defeat him. But you must remember, just because Nnoitra was just like Kenpachi doesnt mean Kenpachi can only fight people like them. Remember Maki Ichinose? And how about Ichigo, and Ikkaku, Tousen, Komamura. All these other characters have different strenghts and weaknesses, all of them had bankai (with the exception of Maki Ichinose because he was a filler character)
Kenpachi had to resort to Kendo, his "trump card" (for him it's basically a Bankai, massive surge of power). Had he not, he might have lost and died, like he himself stated it.
- Maki was filler and therefore not really "real".
- Ikkaku is the same as Kenpachi and Komamura, only on a lower scale. All he does is slash and get slashes, his Shikai boosts no other abilities.
- Komamura wasn't beaten by Kenpachi, he was getting beaten and then Tousen intercepted. Tousen got overconfident.
Tousen got overconfident when he released his bankai and therefore lost. Had he lopped off kenpachi's head when he released it, we could have a dead kenpachi now.
And last but not least, Ichigo: Some people credit that fight as Ichigo's win, some as Kenpachi's. I call it a draw: both were battered and near death when the fight ended, resulting in them both collapsing. So I don't call it a victory for neither.
I believe Soi Fon is not stronger but better on several area's which Kenpachi lacks and vica versa. I also believe Soi Fon can defeat Kenpachi. Not because she fought against Barragan, but because of her overall combat ability and her 2HKO Shikai, let alone destructive missile bankai thingie.

But over all? I'd like to see it demonstrated.
I doubt Kyouraku, Ukitake, Soifon, Hitsugaya, Byakuya, Yamamoto and Unohana are slower in overall speed than Kenpachi. Komamura and Mayuri may be slower but I think Komamura and Kenpachi are about as fast in comparison. Komamura is faster because of his Shunpo but Kenpachi's reaction and swing speed may be faster.
umm...have u seen his fight with tousen?, he was able to easily evade all his attacks, even without sight, smell or feeling reiatsu...he eveaded them all by just feeling the tip of tousens sword on his clothes....and was able to beat off tousen easily, im pretty sure he is quote fast then touse, kommamora, mayuri...and is competent with all the rest of captains save may be soifin..
Not really, Tousen's attacks were getting dodged after already having hit Kenpachi atleast twice. Those two hits should have been going for the head.
Faster =/= agility. Sure, Kenpachi may be more agile than those 3 captains but they have Shunpo and Kenpachi doesn't, giving him a certain disability in pure speed.
Competent with all the rest? Ukitake, Shunsui, Yamamoto, Unohana and Byakuya aswell? They are waaaaaay faster than Kenpachi and Shunsui has proven his agility.

Also his speed is rather impressive, but he lacks shunpo, as Nergal131 pointed out. But with Tousen and Komamura, who needs speed when you have raw instinct??
He didn't "dodge then" per se. He felt the exact instant the blade touched his skin and avoided a fatal blow from there. He still got hit, just... not heavily

Ken beat Tengen before, he can beat Komamura.
The only battles that are questionable are Yamamato and Unohana. They're stronger, but it doesn't mean that they could win easily.

His Shikai summons a giant fist or giant sword or a giant something from his Bankai giant. So if he would swing his sword horizontally, a gigantic sword would appear, doing the same movement. Read this fight in the manga for a better view of it.

Ken was on the side of the main character at this point in the arc. The writers obviously put him in god mode. During this scene he could have beaten old man yama, Aizen, all 10 espada, all 9 tailed beasts, the entire akatsuki, Voltron, Spike from cowboy bebop and anybody else. No way ken supposed to win that particular fight, but he was on the side of the star and was in god mode so he wins no matter if he would normally lose. I WOULD have liked to see the fight between him and Komamura though.

Come on people. This is a cartoon and like most cartoons, the most popular ones are the ones the writers make the most powerful. If you take popularity out of the equation there is no way TK writes that BS about how ken-chan survives Tousen's bankai. We are supposed to believe Tousen managed to cut him in the shoulder 3 times but didn't think "let me just cut his head off but a flash step fueled slice". Out of 13 caps i say ken-chan is the 8th strongest cap.

I think ken-chan stands no shot against old man yama, unohana (yes I think unohana would give him the business EASILY) I think she's the human version of a bankai, she only come out when turn the tide. Either Ukitaki or Shunsui beat him with little problem as well. Obviously Aisen can beat him. And if you take the popularity out of it I think Tousen beats him easily with the bankai cause TK actually lets him kill Ken while helpless instead of cutting his shoulders like b4. So that's 7th not 8th

Also, Ken defeated a "mid level" Arrancar without Bankai or hollowfication and obviously had power to spare. The only reason he hasn't achieved Bankai is because it hasn't happened yet. Ishida lost his Quincy powers "forever", until he got them back, and grew even stronger. It's simply idiotic to assume something that doesn't fit with what we've seen happen versus what we're told will happen or is possible. Class dismissed.

1he is not going to learn bankai he does not train and the only way to obtain bankai is you have to learn it. 2 once Aizen dies bleach will end, so that little fantasy you have has a time limit. Bleach is all about match ups, even though he defeated espada 5 that does not mean he can beat espada 6,7, or 8. How about you kook at kenpachi stat sheet before you make a statement about him.

Kenpachi was able to beat Nnoitra because he was exactly the same kinda fighter as he is. 7 and 8 have special abilities and the only way they died is because they had the most unfortunate opponent. Zomari can control things--> Byakuya has too much things to control
Szayel has some freaky scientist stuff---> Mayuri is even more a freak like we all know.
I don't think Kenpachi can deal with these kinda opponents. Maybe he can beat 6, that one I don't know.

Yeah, that is a true fact, even when Nnoitra went to his release form, Kenpachi was able to hold him off, and even defeat him. But you must remember, just because Nnoitra was just like Kenpachi doesnt mean Kenpachi can only fight people like them. Remember Maki Ichinose? And how about Ichigo, and Ikkaku, Tousen, Komamura. All these other characters have different strenghts and weaknesses, all of them had bankai (with the exception of Maki Ichinose because he was a filler character)

Kenpachi had to resort to Kendo, his "trump card" (for him it's basically a Bankai, massive surge of power). Had he not, he might have lost and died, like he himself stated it.
- Maki was filler and therefore not really "real".
- Ikkaku is the same as Kenpachi and Komamura, only on a lower scale. All he does is slash and get slashes, his Shikai boosts no other abilities.
- Komamura wasn't beaten by Kenpachi, he was getting beaten and then Tousen intercepted. Tousen got overconfident.

Part 2 of rant:
Tousen got overconfident when he released his bankai and therefore lost. Had he lopped off kenpachi's head when he released it, we could have a dead kenpachi now.
And last but not least, Ichigo: Some people credit that fight as Ichigo's win, some as Kenpachi's. I call it a draw: both were battered and near death when the fight ended, resulting in them both collapsing. So I don't call it a victory for neither.

I believe Soi Fon is not stronger but better on several area's which Kenpachi lacks and vica versa. I also believe Soi Fon can defeat Kenpachi. Not because she fought against Barragan, but because of her overall combat ability and her 2HKO Shikai, let alone destructive missile bankai thingie.

well i assure you his attack speed is probably pretty top notch being that his power is top notch. and hes probably more agile than both komamura and mayuri. his reaction speed is also probably top notch. and im sure he can cover short distances pretty damn quick as well.(power) but that's not agility, other than those two I mentioned the rest are probably more agile than him. But over all? I'd like to see it demonstrated.

I doubt Kyouraku, Ukitake, Soifon, Hitsugaya, Byakuya, Yamamoto and Unohana are slower in overall speed than Kenpachi. Komamura and Mayuri may be slower but I think Komamura and Kenpachi are about as fast in comparison. Komamura is faster because of his Shunpo but Kenpachi's reaction and swing speed may be faster.

umm...have u seen his fight with tousen?, he was able to easily evade all his attacks, even without sight, smell or feeling reiatsu...he eveaded them all by just feeling the tip of tousens sword on his clothes....and was able to beat off tousen easily, im pretty sure he is quote fast then touse, kommamora, mayuri...and is competent with all the rest of captains save may be soifin..

Not really, Tousen's attacks were getting dodged after already having hit Kenpachi atleast twice. Those two hits should have been going for the head.
Faster =/= agility. Sure, Kenpachi may be more agile than those 3 captains but they have Shunpo and Kenpachi doesn't, giving him a certain disability in pure speed.
Competent with all the rest? Ukitake, Shunsui, Yamamoto, Unohana and Byakuya aswell? They are waaaaaay faster than Kenpachi and Shunsui has proven his agility.

@ovilulu Not really. Kenpachi was stabbed by Tousen when Tousen used his bankai, after Kenpachi figured it out, he dodged the rest of them with ease, and managed to cut down Tousen, thus disabling his Bankai.
Also his speed is rather impressive, but he lacks shunpo, as Nergal131 pointed out. But with Tousen and Komamura, who needs speed when you have raw instinct??

Though knowing Kenpachi, you are probably more accurate in assuming it was when it hit him. Though I was just stating the possibility.

Kendo is strong but the only way he can hit someone with is if they have the same fighting style. Otherwise, he would just miss every swing. Kid, I understand, apparently better than you, that Ken's power is not known and therefore placing any assumptions on who he could or could not grow to defeat, at this time, is simply foolish. This used to be the case for Ichigo but he has hit the end of the line, definitely, unless there is something beyond his level of hollowfication. Ken is still an unknown quantity. Further fights in the battle over fake Kurakura Town will reveal who is stronger than whom.

All his tricks? Nnoitra made him fight without one arm and one leg tied behind his back. Big difference. Zeraki Kenpachi has no tricks except what he plays on himself. The limits of his power are not known. It clearly was luck and Kenpachi's underestimation of Ichigo that resulted in defeat. If he's powerful enough to defeat a high level Arrancar without Bankai or hollowfication he would be Vasto Lord power easily with Bankai if not without it.

His limits may not be known but soul reapers LIMITS are. There is only so much kenpachi can do because he has limited himself by not learning anything. No shikai no bankai no kido no flash step. Kendo is his last option because using kendo goes against his personality, its like ikkakus bankai or yamiska kido shikais. You're also ignoring the fact that not everything is known they only think they do. Nearly every major arc involves what Soul Society THINKs it knows getting owned by something they don't expect.
