Chris has great talent, his beats switch up multiple times during the song but still go back to a basic beat, his bits and peices he throws into the song spice it up like a habanaro pepper. He's the greatest drummer in his mind, it's what keeps him going. If he sat around worrying about other drummers that are better than him then he would not play anymore.

A gravity blast is a one-handed 16th note roll on the snare, on top of an identical 16th note roll on the double bass, while the other hand plays 8th notes on the cymbal of said hand's choice. Almost no similarity, other than the fact that there are drums involved...
Chris adler is my life idol. He's certainly one of, if not the best drumemr out there. He may not be SUPER fast like other metal bands. But his style and prefferance is to not be like everyone else and just do constant bass. He puts his own licks into everything he does with drums. He's come a long way from coffee jars in his mom's back yard!!!

People have to understand that Chris Adler's drumming is based on a very tight correlation to the music, and not insane speed. I personally love death metal with blasting, but Chris has an almost melodic style, which you lose when you start blasting.

It's not the fact that he is just "amazing" and I wouldn't take the advice of a 14 year old who bases his understanding of percussion off the kit his mom bought him last christmas(not pointing fingers). It's the simple fact that he is solid with every bar of the song. Simple but innovative, not stupid fast and always above freaking 250 bpm. All for the fast stuff, but dont let that be your only outlet to what good musicianship is.
kollias and john are great drummers, Kollias cant be beaten at speed thats for sure, but chris has a unique stlye of playing, which is more important for me.

Chris Adlers drumstyle dont nessesarily reflect his technical skills, and people fail too se this. Chris might not be the fastest drummer, but his style is unique, and if we start talking about orginality, there is plenty of metal bands that should bring more to the table..

@fistepot I know plus i hate those drummers that just double bass as fast as they can the entire song but it doesnt go with it at all... but Adler doesnt just go all out in a song he knows it wouldnt sound good in...

People have to understand that Chris Adler's drumming is based on a very tight correlation to the music, and not insane speed. I personally love death metal with blasting, but Chris has an almost melodic style, which you lose when you start blasting.

please guys no fighting. yes, lamb of god might not be the most impossible thing to play on the drums. but it is fun to listen to it. so please dont rag on other drummers purely on skill. or rag on them for all. metal is metal. sub genres shouldnt be bashing other sub genres. we should be bashing rap, or pop. not eachother. sorry if i sound like some douche vouching for world peace

He is very very very very very average.
Actually I listen to grindcore and deathmetal so he would be considered below average in those genres.
He does so many "beginner" type beats and accents it isn't even funny.

I listen to Origin, Meshuggah, Death, Cynic, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Dim Mak, Behemoth, Lagwagon etc. I know all about technical drumming.
If you think Chris Adler is technical than you are the one with an embarrassingly poor grasp of what is and what is not technical ability.

you can never compare about music( except gay emo,punk RNB hip hop shit those were exception) but in Instrumental music, you can't compare them cause it's all opinions, well i also listen to all those bands that you do, and i really like meshuggah too ,yes true Tomas Haake stuff's are more complex than lamb of god and not alittle more complex, quite alot i think, but Chris adler is pretty creative, i like his drumming, yet lamb of god is my fav band, its the best band for me but not everyone

he first is keeping the down beat with his bass drum and alternating tom hits. then he ends it with a basic double bass roll down the toms.

It's not the fact that he is just "amazing" and I wouldn't take the advice of a 14 year old who bases his understanding of percussion off the kit his mom bought him last christmas(not pointing fingers). It's the simple fact that he is solid with every bar of the song. Simple but innovative, not stupid fast and always above freaking 250 bpm. All for the fast stuff, but dont let that be your only outlet to what good musicianship is.

kollias and john are great drummers, Kollias cant be beaten at speed thats for sure, but chris has a unique stlye of playing, which is more important for me.
