Imhulu (Gharnef's magic tome) protects him from damage. You have to wait him out until he leaves. To stall him, use a unit with high resistance (Lena of some kind of healer). He'll gon away around the 5th turn. (I think...)

The only item that is effective against that boss is Starlight, and you receive that later on in the game.

If Gharnef capped all stats he would be alot harder, but unlike final bosses (like Ashnard and Ashera) he has normal caps, Etzel has the same class thus has the same stats.

I was sooo cheap. I made Marth kill the boss after 2 turns have past and after my Theif stole all the treasure. It took like 30 seconds to clear this stage for me.

Gharnef's magic makes him immune to all attacks other than Starlight, which you cannot get legitimately until Chap. 22. What I did was that I had Lena(my Lv6 Bishop) tank Gharnef. I only took 1 damage from his attack because Lena had 20 Res. at the time.

You can't kill Gharnef in this chapter. But at least you don't have to struggle with him since he teleports away after Turn 6.

You can't kill him at the moment. After a few turns he will leave. I just had my lvl 3 Bishop Lena with Pure Water be a tank, took no damage from his attacks =P.

well I was on the chap. and I couldn't beat him the way to have ur allies survive is to stay away from Gharnef no matter what u hit at him he's invincible

or I think the his weakness is the Falchion

You need starlight to kill Garnef. And i think at chapter twenty-something you have to fight him and two copies of him.

Yes you can't kill Garnef.

He has Imhullu, the only magic that can kill him is Sideratio.

you can't kill him. from where you start just kill those mages and wait till he gets to you. then he will warp away. I think it is on turn 7 or 8 he warps away. whatever you do avoid him at all cost.

Sorry, you can't. He has a spell named Malph that automatically negates enemy attacks. Editing a character's strength to five bazillion won't do anything.

The only way to hurt him is through the use of a tome named Starlight, which you have to get in a later chapter.

i wouldn't be so sure i hurt him even though he had malph without hacking. but i think thats the stage you can kill him.

What you did was kill his clone.

In that level, there are two "Garnefs" who carry a fake version of Malph that says it does nothing in the battle info screen, but when you go into battle you'll do damage as normal. The real one cano't be damaged except by Starlight.

(Also, the fake Garnefs drop Steel Swords instead of the Falchion when they're killed.)

dude, it tells you how much damage your attacks will do. If it shows 0x2, that means you will hit twice, each attack doing zero damage. So dont attack!
