  • In an HRT I'm surprised you made it past the first bend....

  • fuck's sake, hrt had a cool livery last year

  • Fake

  • Wow. An engine Failure.

  • one does not simply drive an HRT

  • Nah this does happen surprisingly often in the game

  • What button did you press coming into that turn because as soon as you pressed it the car was lurched into that violent spin

  • no wonder the engine blew its a hrt

  • @badass0bhuna I don't recall there being many consecutive or common HRT engine blows in recent seasons, mechanical retirements on the lower 3 teams are more commonly due to hydraulics failures.

  • I think they happen when you downshift with the throttle open, its happened to me quite a few times

  • i am rank 50

  • Gearbox failure. You jumped from 7th to 5th which made the rear wheels lock up and then you just lose total control.

  • Guess it's the gearbox. Your Gearbox was already damaged before it was blown up ( the 6th gear wasn't there anymore). So the Gearbox has gone... it was just a matter of the time.

  • Wasnt a engine failure, it was a gearbox failure.

The car jumps from 7th to 5th which locks the rear wheels and you spin.

  • How did you get it to blow?

  • driver failure

  • I thought codemasters said no random failures in F1 2011 WTF?

  • vettle's voice " engine failure engine failure"

  • I was in a Ferrari and it happened to me twice on the 1st corner of this track. Australia.

  • The same thing happened to me...with the same car...for me is the hrt that had shit engines...

  • sounded like a self-destruct-device

  • Must've been a Honda F1 engine...

  • it looks cool though!

  • same happened to me in canada. but it happened to me as soon as i left the pits.

  • HRT. It's explained.

  • @fadmanzano Cosworth. It's explained even more.

  • @blainyrules True. Cosworth + HRT = 'nuff said.

  • kinda looks like you hit the hand brake and turned because the way you spun.

  • I you look closely you change from 7th to 5th which blows the engine

  • @unluckyrolo Yes it does go from 7th to 5th but theres no way of doing that in the game which means its just a random failure thats coded to happen, same thing happened in the silverstone video.

  • @ELITERazarar it is the engine blowing up, going at a to high speed in a to low gear

  • @ELITERazarar did you accidentally double downshift?

  • @sonicfan1996 nope it just happened. 1 downshift same as I do now gearbox or engine it was purely random.

  • wow at first i was like u clipped the side but looking from a diffrent angle i was like wow thats nuts

  • I thought your engine would have been orange or red for it to blow and not green ?

  • Your rear tyre locked

  • When I saw the car it said "this could be you". They changed it at the second half of the season because they could refer to how you can get a racing career in a slow and lame car that always breaks down or crashes. I don't think you want to be in this postition.

  • @DVDFerrari5

This could be you...spinning out with an engine failure

  • this is normal

  • You expected better from an HRT? :P

  • that happens often?

  • @PTgamer00 Na thats the first one for me but had 2 total.

  • @ELITERazarar I had one engine failure, just like that, no mistake and thats a good thing, in real life it happens....

  • no wonder cause you were using DRS and KERS together!!

  • @nmistry56 hrt don't have kers i don't think

  • @FPSyorkshire correct no kers.

  • Shifting down gears to quickly is the reason for the spin I think.

  • why would that cause you to lose control of the car lol??

  • how many Gs was that?

  • @33unholy well no collision so probably no G's.

  • @ELITERazarar What do you mean no collision no G's?

  • @MauerEllsbury G-Force the sudden stop when you hit a barrier but since I didn't hit anything the G-force should be pretty low.

  • @ELITERazarar G-Force is when your body is strained from sudden movements.

For example, going through a corner very fast in an F1 car could generate 3 or 4 G's. (Which means you weight 3-4 times as much as you do stationary)

This would probably generate a lot of G's..

  • @TeamLotusGT5 Indeed I was just describing the more extreme part of it.

  • @ELITERazarar G-Force, gravity force here is allays g force even when you move your hand but here it wasnt soo big

  • Flash down through your gears too quick I think.

  • see that is why hrt has only finished 6 races of the season

  • This happened to me in Monaco shifting down from 7th to 4th for Massenet. Flashed back and slowed the car down without gears, next couple of gear changes blew the engine up anyway. Weird. Luckily it was in Free Prac 1. Think it must just happen from time to time without it being the fault of the driver.

  • @kier17 Yes ive come to the same conclusion as a few engine failures and gearbox have not been at super high revs, then when I try and recreate it I just cant it seems to be pretty random.

  • @ELITERazarar try to recreate it after 20 laps or so i think your engine wears down after many laps. if you go from 7th to 3th instantly your engine is definitely going to blow up

  • @mralanv tried and tested, its pretty random.

  • the fact that kobayashi is in 1st doesn't suprise me, he's amazing, the fact that a pair of HRT's are in 10th and 11th is worse

  • @Jay93Fry was the start of the session the other cars were probably just finishing their first flying lap which is normally their second timed lap.

  • Kobayashi 1st

  • The car behind had a shotgun which blew up ur engine so he takes the lead!

  • Kobayashi 1st?

  • well at least the temperature is still good

  • in reality F1 drivers cant blow up their engines by their own mistake. The technology prevent them from shifting down gears if something like that is going to happen so its a kind of bug

  • he didnt shift back to 1st real F1 cars in case of a gearbox failure shown N on the dashboard in F1 2011 the dashboard shows 1. With F1 cars you cant use engine breaking therefore you cant downshift too many gears, downshifting was the cause of 95% of engine failures in F1 since the entry of the automatic and the semi automatic gearboxes in 2011 that shouldnt happen because the ecu is set to not over downshift

  • exactly the same thing happened to me in shanghai with a force india car. It's the engine not tire-blowout.

  • change to 7 to 1 less 4 seconds and your break your engine

  • Rear diffs lock which cause the car to spin

  • Looks like vettel's crash in abu dhabi :P

  • That's an useless option. What a waste of time for a video game player.

  • Strange, I always use manual gears with the hardest difficulty and all the realism settings on full, I have never blown an engine on down shifts... Does this mean I'm changing gears properly or I'm just immune to destroying engines?

  • Yeah... thats not a blown engine, it wouldnt make you spin that crazily, tyre blowout because of the wear on them most likely.

  • @TheChappell92 this was a qualifying session no wear on them, also a tyre blowout is not terminal in the game unfortunately I never kept the screen that says 100% damage a few seconds after but the screen going red tells you its terminal so its either Gearbox or Engine failure.

  • @ELITERazarar okay fair enough, its not a tyre failure, but its definately not an engine failure, the telematry on the screen had the engine as Green condition, which means its at perfect condition. Strange, this has never happened to me before and i do 100% length races.

  • @TheChappell92 Thats engine temperature not condition, I had that car status already selected so it didn't change to the condition status. Just had another incident like it will have it up tomorrow for all to see.

  • @TheChappell92 As you can see at 0:28 both back tyres stopped so its probably NOT the suspension. The engine CAN blew up, get stuck and promptly stop the back wheels which would insult in a spin like that. A gearbox failure could have the same effect.

  • @TheChappell92 if an engine blows and damages the driveshaft it can cause the rear wheels to lock up and that would cause a spin (this has actually happend in a real F1 race)....loss of oil can cause the engine to seize up and again lock the rear wheels.

  • If you watch carefully. it looks like the upper portion of the wing breaks, causing a loss in downforce on the back wheels.

  • Cosworth engines are programmed to blow if you go too fast.

  • @Th3Juic3 LMFAO so true XD

  • looked more like a puncture to me but, it's your call

  • LOL, you changed from 7th to 5th quickly.

  • stolen video

  • @liamgalyer and where have I stolen it from?

This video has been uploaded in 2 places 1 on ELITE-Gaming (which I have given permission to use) and here.

  • 0:10 press the magic button and BAMN!! destroyed engine..

  • I also had this 1 time but this was in the last race of competition and i was 1 st

  • KOBAYASHI 1ST??????

  • can this happen in f1 2010??

  • @gavmo99 get 2011?

  • Did it at the exact same corner :S

  • sometimes i think it's a bit too sensitive.

  • same happend with me on my fist quali session at same corner

  • Happened because of the fast gear change without using the brakes. Doesn`t matter wich car you are driving, i did on Red Bull and McLaren just for testing, if you shift down too fast without using the brakes the engine will blow.

  • Thats what you get for driving a HRT

  • HRT sucks, rs

  • you went down from 7th gear to 5th too quickly, the engine didn't randomly fail

  • @gougs10 never said it did.

  • @gougs10

    sos man, my mistake

  • to blow ur engune do u have 2 b on manual gears?

  • @baggiebaby100 No idea I presume that you would still be able to blow it after it wears out alot, but probably not with changing gears.

  • @ELITERazarar You can blow it with automatic. It's really hard though, only chance I've got is spinning out after avoiding a collsion (with DRS enabled... bad move) tried to reverse and spin back around whilst I was going 120mph. Boom.

  • Did you have any indication at all that this was about to happen? I was looking for the engine to turn red or something. Did you have major power loss at some point? I guess you didn't look in the garage afterwards.

  • @oph5pr1n6 No indication it was gonna happen guess I overcooked it on the dowshifts, didnt go back to garage I was so miffed I restarted the career :p

  • @ELITERazarar hang on. you know on the hud thing on the right showing you temperatures of things, next to it is a warning indicator thing thats used to see tyre wear. it shows problems on the engines too.

  • @RedCreeper1 yup and they are all green, so it wasnt an overheating issue.

  • If you downshift to quickly, your engine will blow. Try braking first.

  • Expected for a hrt

  • were you using manual gears? I want an engine failure :L

  • @jameshapgood1 yup manual gears all the way!!

  • does that leave you with one less engine for the season?

  • @myuniverse1234 actually I was so miffed I restarted the career :p

  • @myuniverse1234 If you're in career mode, yes

  • @myuniverse1234 year but only in careea mode

  • @myuniverse1234 Yes it does. You can choose the engine you want to use if you want to do an engine change. But it costs you! You retire the session (only happened to me in practices). I lost 2 engines :(

  • All I've gotten is a DRS failure.

  • @Farmarel16 i got a kers faliure once

  • the guy behind must have pissed himself !

  • Holy mother of god.
