  • Ich bin’s, ich sollte büßen,

    An Händen und an Füßen

    Gebunden in der Höll.

    Die Geißeln und die Banden

    Und was du ausgestanden,

    Das hat verdienet meine Seel.

  • Blute nur, du liebes Herz!

Ach! Ein Kind, das du erzogen,

    Das an deiner Brust gesogen,

    Droht den Pfleger zu ermorder,

Denn es ist zur Schlange worden.

  • 00:30 Anyone can tell me the name of that singer ? Please :D I love her voice

  • So so moving... it puts you close to God

  • not bad????

Greatest composer of all time. His greatest work.

    Greatest understatement.

  • bach is premier...ihrtbach.

  • I like how the lute behind such an orchestra, soloist and choir, can still cut through perfectly without being obnoxious.

  • uitstekend

  • 08-Aria: Blute nur, du liebes Herz. 10-Chorale: Ich bin´s ich sollte büssen

  • GOD I LOVE THIS BASS'S TONE makes the world a far more exciting place

  • They say that if you listen to classical music, you'll get even smarter.Classical music inspired today's music;since I listened to lots of this,I should appreciate all kinds of music.

  • @migsrebsaber Yes, it inspired them. But the noise they write nowadays is nothing like classical music; therefore, you do not necessarily enjoy the noise they write today.

  • @acc96build Listening/appreciating music means listening to music whether it's your liking or not...

  • Het is weer bijna pasen

  • she's a bit too low in the beginning

  • I always thought of this work as haunting and this solo is an example of it...wish it were taken a little more slowly.

I have heard it done with boy sopranos as well and it is even more haunting because their voices ring like a bell especially in the high register and vibrate very little.

  • one of my friends used to call bach the composer of god and now i understand why !

  • Bwilliant conducting, or, on the other hand, good interpretation and leading by 'El Conductor'.

  • angelic piece, angelic face, good voice

  • Very somber...and flows quite well, that's what I like about Baroque music.

  • Nor do I assume there are "accolades"in any other world... I love Bach but I don't put him above a drain digger. I have done plenty of such manual work in my life. And it is good such work. Seriously - we all are "great" in our own ways.

  • @quagapp : Hey. I dug graves and can play Bach in the most Schweitzeran manner from time to time. Here, I believe that I can detect the clavichord.

  • I cant play any music really (except the piano at one stage), and I'm more or less tone deaf - but I love the sound of Bach - so good on you.

  • shush.

  • I think she is a very beautiful singer.

  • Unlike Handel - who was very successful publically - Bach , like Shakespear wasn't appreciated in his own life, as (much as) he is now - at least he was not widely known. His fame came after his death. Rather paradoxical if not tragic. Also in his day he was considered to be 'behind the times' in his music. "Music's greatest nonconformer" as Glenn Gould called him once.

  • I certainly wouldn't consider it tragic nor paradoxical; most great men--prophetic, artistic, engineers, mathematicians and scientistst--will never receive their true acclaim in their lifetime.

They don't seek the praise nor the accolades that man offers in this world--they seek to develop their craft and bring joy, wisdom and comfort for all to receive, but it's near impossible for a world of myopic individuals caught in the demands or emptiness of everyday living to recognize true greatness

  • What do you mean by "the emptiness of everyday living"? I don't think people are myopic - they are busy and have other things to do...which is natural and good. I don't think it really matters. We all die and disappear so it makes no difference. it is not tragic of course..I probably used that little ironically. The main thing is to be happy in life whatever you are doing. But you are right that they (mostly) "don't seek the praise nor the accolades that man offers in this world" ...

  • blute nur :(

  • Extrem fein artikuliert; dies ist nur auf Barockinstrumenten möglich

  • choral music is not normally my thing but bach = excellent

i dont think he wrote a bad piece of music

  • I know what you mean.

  • absolutely. imagine hav ing talent like bachs

  • I think I have to agree with you about Bach. He was a master. His music is pure magic.

  • @themusicdr This is different from Opera -- It's a "Passion", which is a Christian Oratorio.

  • @acc96build i called it choral music not opera. although i do find most opera too highbrow. i still say it's hard to beat bach regardless of what he put his hand to

  • @themusicdr No, I don't like opera much either. Did you know Bach never wrote an opera? I think Bach is the best in every sort of music he wrote :D ... yay Bach!

  • @themusicdr samething with me, being that I quite dislike Operas and all the singing, but surpricingly I like all of Bachs music regard less. He carries the vioces so well is hard to dislike

  • Wonderful recording! Brava! TY.

  • I love it, thank you very much

  • AUGURI!!!!!!! 324 ANNI, JOHANN SEBASTIAN!!!!!

    Schumanntica

  • Phenomenal performance, this is. I wish I were more familiar with the piece. Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics online?

Es gefaellt mir, wenn deuten Sie an ein guten Schrift. Dann woerde ich bessere Deutsch sprechen und schrieben, und auch die meinung Bachs.

  • You can find the entire text of the passion and an English translation at the site of Minnesota Public Radio. Just do a Google search by typing "Blute nur" Text. It should come up on the first line. Can't put link in here. Sorry.

  • Was für ein hervorragender Lautenist! Überhaupt, Ton Koopmann und seine Mannen/Frauen ein Wunder vor unseren Augen.

  • gracias por poner algo de buena musica y subir algo con verdadero contenido al you tube

  • will you all quit talking about authenticity? Bach himself said in his letters about the leipzig singers that 20 were good, 20 were useable and 20 were useless. Put that ratio in a choir today and sing the cantatas like this for "authenticity".

  • interesting.....good is a comparative word, and useable and useless can be quite objective.....who knows what was Bach's standard of good

  • well from what we know of bach's personality good probably means amazing, useable means good, and useless means good.

  • @shariotoflove : Das ist eine guht comment. Notice the usefulness of the clavichord continuo.

  • this is the best....rock on \m/

  • I think her tuning is great... I believe Bach wrote it just like that... It's not easy, to hit those tones out of line while the orchestra plays...

  • the "Lord, is it I?" segment gives me goosebumps

  • WHO is the soprano?

  • NYCBG: the soprano is Cornelia Samuelis.

  • Wow! From 1 year ago to 1 day ago! Thanks, nihilanonym!

  • blute nur Du Liebes herz.....

    es ist so schön:)

  • Great music - but the soprano evidently doesn't think so given the woeful singing in this clip.

  • Her tuning is SHOCKING!!

  • just too freakin beautiful!

  • Too beautiful. Beyond comprehension! I do prefer Gardeners Interpretatino though? I would also advise you to listen to Jan Pieter Leusink's interpretation. He uses Boy sopranos instead of female ones and I have to say that it does add some authenticity to the whole thing :)

  • There is a boys' choir in the loft, but he doesn't use them much. They were used in Kommt ihr Tochter, and not since.

  • I also sing in a boys' choir, and we also only sing the start and the end of the first part.
