If your gonna do this use theDaftman circuit on TEEP forum and use the solid state vesion and use it instead od a commutator,it'll go way faster and produce more power when it runs faster,trust me I've already been where your at and no one told me the easy stuff.
What have happened is your batteries have been drained out. You did not undertand the principle. When the rotor rotate, the self around it is supposed to recharge the batteries. A small part of the batteries is then used to give a boost to the rotor with a boost self, that is done at the correct moment by the switching. Only a small energy is needed to make the rotor rotate because the resistance come mostly from the air friction. But the main self can produce more than that.
@cedddd2001 If this device generates more energy than it takes to run it then why cant an generator hooked on its output shaft be used to power the input. This way the batteries could be removed and it would run itself.

Fixing a fan to its axle is the biggest error because it is weakening the heart of the system wich rely on free perpetual motion, although it is thrue in a vacuum an even more in space whitout the gravity wich oblige to use positioning with ball or bronce hub wich is adding friction. But in space it ....

Now since it makes more power than it uses the device should run forever with no input batteries or power of any kind. You can use a regulator to drain off the excess energy to power say a small light bulb. Place this device on display in public & run it for a month. To prove concept. How about that?
@Texmurphy51 I see you did not understand what I have said. The device axle must be left free of any resistance. Nothing must be connected to the axle. The energy catcher self is continuously recharging a battery. From this battery a smaller amount of current is used to feed the boost self at the correct rotor rotation angle. This amount equal the air and bearings resistances to get a steady rotation frequency, and is lower than the energy the catcher self is producing, it remains for else.
@cedddd2001 No I do understand. This is the same idea as Bedini motor. A battery charging charging another battery through a device, gaining power in the process. I am simply saying IF it can create energy in the output that energy should be able to be fed back into the input, making a deviced that runs forever. Now how about starting your device with a battery in parallel with a capacitor. Once running remove the battery & it should run simply on the cap, Right?

From what I see there is nothing wrong with the amount o wire on yor windings or your input power.
I believe your comutator is to complicated. Try making a simple,wire on th shaft type with masking tape to breack the connection like you see in so many vids. Just about all of the early problems that I had with mine were because of the commutator. Once you get the timing right there's no reson why it shouldn't go like crazy, then you can start refineing it. Keep at it. Your doing good.
You may try lowering the magnet's axis and attaching it to the commutator via a belt or rubber band - you could also control ratio of spins this way and place the coil in the middle of the field.
If you do this, you may want to make the commutator axis out of pvc or some other ferromagnetically non-conductive material to prevent chogging ( jittering ).
nsosquarsa: the coil is not heating up. The batteries are not capable of producing large amounts of current. your calculations are correct, but the batteries only produce what a single battery can produce. Which is why on the second video I split the battery pack, so I could double to capable current. I will have a third video soon.
is your coil heating up? the resistance of your coil is and the "high" voltage are causing a huge power dissipation of 20 Watts (max). if i look at your commutator it seems that your pulse duration is T/2 at a full revolution. from this it follows that your average power dissipation is 10 Watts. If the coils are warming up than the resistance of your coils is rising as well and the hole process is stoping.
I bet it would go faster if the shaft was in the middle of the coil.

Try using a capacitor instead of shorting your large white coil :) Oscillation can perhaps help the motor in doing its work.

nice build, but what kind of electrical contacts do you have at the commutator ?
Is it just copper on copper ?
Try to use graphite brushes and use a bigger magnet inside the coil.
Also the amout of wire seems not to be enough.
What is the average current into the machine at this RPM ?
It should be at least 2 to 10 MilliAmps.
So if you stop the motor and hold it on the On-Position,it should draw about 50 to 100 MilliAmps.
