besides "Crimson Tide" sounds a lot like a mascot. if Tulane can have "The Green Wave" as a mascot Bama can have "Crimson Tide". besides i have never heard y'all been called "the elephants". it sounds to me like "Crimson Tide" is your mascot more than anything.

I was watching ESPN on Thursday before the Bama/LSU game and Gameday was already setup in front of Bryant Denny and they were doing a live preview. I am fairly certain Updyke was standing behind the booth and was in the shot during the whole segment.
