hey man! your video really helped me. i also had to disassemble that notebook, because the cpu fan got stucked. i put some wd-40 spray oil into it, now the fan runs smoothly. thanks!!!
@moehanned Yes and Yes ... for the CPU just use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol and wipe the old paste off of the cpu and heatsink and apply some fresh thermal paste.
Pleas, can sobedy tell me where is placed graphic card on this notebook or where I can find service manual for sony vaio vgn-cs31s? I need fix some problem. thanks to all for any help.
I got the DC Jack out :) All screws have to be removed on that side as well as the srews holding the screen hinge. Then the Jack can be removed! Boy what a mess for changing a 5€ part!!
I've done that;) I need to repair the dc jack and up to now can not really figure out how to get the thing out :O Maybe if I remove the MB it will be possibel :S
Awesome video.. Just what I was looking for. I was looking around for a good video on a CS tear down and this is clearly it. Short, and right to the point. Excellent video and music. Thanks :D
@mRD32607 Hmm don't know what u mean ... but it might be either the thermal paste for the cpu + chipset or the diesel fuel on the fan sleeve bearing and electromagnet.
Do u have a video that says how to open the sony vaio cs !?

@moehanned No need ... just reverse the steps ... and honestly, it's one of the easiest laptops to service, as straight forward as it gets.

@spade1984 OK - but the jack itslef sits in a corner where no MB is present. How Do you get that part out of the plastic !?

Hmm,
the fan really turns great after the few drops of diesel :) But how about the smell? Should I leave the fan in the sun for a while ;)?
Any idea on how to release the top cover of the CS11?
timkata1190 8 months ago
@timkata1190 There is no smell really, those few drops don't carry such an odor.
Top cover ... you mean the keyboard? If so, u need to remove the underside first to have access to the screws that hold it in place.
