I believe there's a character in it that is a maid and uses an eye patch, I theorize it's a dedication to that character.

Not sure about that though, it might be just for the good looks.

yep, there is a maid with an eye patch, but aside the maid outfit they aren't much alike (the main diference is sakuya being summisive and the one from ikki tousen being sadistic)

I love Sakuya's themes, though. Zun really didn't hold back on her. This is some beautiful piano work. Is that a keyboard I hear in the background??

Also, I spy three knives and a stopwatch. Tough making stuff out with all the purple. (purple's a nice colour though)

What i missed is that Kakashi didnt mentioned the idea why Sakuya was created. He explained the charackter now somewhat, and left this one out.

This is wonderful. Really beautiful. Question, if Sakuya can stop time, and bend space, then why doesn't she dodge attacks, or bend them around her? Better yet, why doesn't t she just stop time and stab people? End her fights a lot faster.

Well with danmaku battles there is a sense of honor and I could imagine that Sakuya would actually want to make it a fair fight. Similar to how Alice doesn't use her full power just to make it fair.

Danmaku battles are about fairness, cirno could win yukari on a danmaku if she wanted to, because yukari ability to deny life can't be used on a danmaku. The same goes to sakuya, she can stop the time and stab you on a real fight but on a danmaku that wouldn't be honorable

It brings up the question though, if she REALLY did not want Reimu to go any further in EoSD, she could could have dispatched her at any moment.

Its possible that she can't use it for long, or that her opponents have counter measures to prevent her from using it for too long.

In the fighters, she can use it for a good bit of time, but in the shooters she's probably bound by spellcard rules.

Simple answer, my friend: Fair play, sense of duty, and stamina.

Sakuya can do so and probally did it a lot, mostly bending her won knifes to turn them into homming stabs, but chronomancy (time/space manipulation) is known to be a very exausting kind of magic, having a slightly larger cool down: Time enought to take some hits.

Another reason to her dont doing the freeze-kill-continue feat it's the Spell Card Battle rule. o_o
