@dachshund103 First of all you need a visit to the doctor to rule out other possibilities. If it is IBS then cutting out offending foods like red meat, broccoli, peppers, etc. will help. Don't use Metamucil, get Citrucel which is what our doctor suggested. Talk to your parents about your issue and get to the doctor first as your symptoms may not be due to IBS. Good luck to you.

Any product that can cure ibs is a joke. I tried them all. They do nothing. I've been suffering for 5 years. Had my blood analyzed at a wellness center and based on my analysis, they put me on a very specific diet. No supplements, no medication. Really dissapointed in doctors who said there are no cure for ibs, i have to try this.

It does feels sickening sometimes if you have to go to the toilet two or three times to clear the bowels, before going out to work or hang out with friends.

I have IBS and for years didnt know it. This year I lost 1 1/2 stone over a month and was really ill. I have now changed from using cows milk to using goats milk and cut out all other dairy from cows. I feel much better now. I also need to avaoid spicey foods as this sets it off too. Best to check with your doctor. I try to eat what my 'people' usually eat in order to tune into the types of foodstuff my body can absorb easily. (sorry if that sounds really odd but its worked for me).
