  • A true racer with balls of steel. God rest your soul Mr Sheen.

  • Good response times for the emergency services, especially for '75.

  • Barry Sheene ..7 a true hero to every race fan and biker

  • Great bloke, great days, great era. Happy memories. The world is a lesser place without people like Barry Sheene.

  • Don't often get that much honesty about incidents nowadays... That ace number 7. Miss Murray Walker's commentating too.

  • I'm German (Kraut :)). Nonetheless my two childhood heroes in motorsport were James Hunt & Bazza.

R.I.P. Nr.7 and thank you for the memories

  • Awesome quote from Sheene at 3.50..typical twat interviewer..Awesome icon .Sadly missed.

  • 3.50 awesome qote from Sheene awesome legend..Sadly missed..

  • RIP Barry

  • R.I.P. BAZ(and joey).............you was the one of the best, will alway's remember number 7 that you'rs forever

  • so scary..looks like something on the bike broke. 170 in a corner = not fun.these guys crashed faster than i've ever ridden in a straight line! imho barry sheene, one of the fastest ever, a world class racer. thanks for the vid. RIP.

  • what a top bloke well missed all over the world.......

  • I feel sorry for him but damn he has one fast & nice sounding 2 stroke motorcycle!! :)

  • this is garbage silverstone aint banked

  • @chrisnapierutube read the title of the clip, daytona has banked corners, at silverstone is where Barry hit the bike on the track as he came over the crest, 2 separate incidents.

  • holy shit have you seen the list of what he broke?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Tyre blowout.. He was on crossply Tyres

  • Comment removed

  • OK. So what did the "post mortum" reveal about the motorcycle ? The guy says the back wheel was the prob, but careful look clearly shows an object flying out from under the engine @ 2:13 . ???

  • I cant hardly look at this video!!!

He was a very hard man ! He was one of my heroes!!!

  • Bless you Bazza ! R.I.P.

  • John Surtees is the only man to be world champion on 2 wheel and 4. I was also lucky enough to meet the lovely Barry and have picture of me sitting on his knee - and I wasn't a child - I was 25. Sad sad loss he was brilliant

  • What a Badass! Used to love Bazza and Dazza on channel 9. RIP Barry

  • AS young men we followed barry all over england and met him lots of times in the circuit bars and what a lovely lad he was.we had a great laugh with him and its such ashame he died.....

  • Barry is the best.R.I.P. My Hero forever.

  • seemed invincible - he survived anything that motorcycling threw at him R.I.P. Bazza

  • champions come and go but for me Barry will always be the best. He had character!!!

  • A super and brave racer. Limbs held together by screws, nuts and bolts. Sadly, lost his life to cancer.

  • Yea I know in his case it kinda silly how he lost it to a disease after all he's been through :( . he was literally battered but he still kept racing and smiling :P . Much respect Barry r.i.p .

  • Cancer is not a joke I am not making fun of it also.

  • And we should not forget the great Mike Hailwood, who raced on both two and four wheels. He lost his life in an uneccessary road traffic accident.

  • To be honest I had to do some research on him . I only know so much history for me :( . But good call, another brave and fearless racer in an accident unrelated to the dangerous sport they were in.

  • Fair comment. Hailwood raced at the same time as John Surtees. JT`s son,Henry was killed in a Formular 2 race a couple of months ago.

  • jeez it's a small world. I am also an open wheel fan and I know about Henry...I saw the accident. Very tragic and unfortunate. I never knew his father was a two wheel racer as well thanks : D .

  • You`re welcome. John Surtees also raced GP Formula one. [4 wheels] I think he raced for Team Lotus and was a World Champion. [early 1960`s]

  • shame that his son went and dirtied the Hailwood name. Mike would turn in his grave

  • The word legend was invented for this man.R.I.P Barry

  • Those old mad strokers were not as handy ridden as todays stuff, poor handling, vicious powerbands and deadly acceleration, crap tyres and brakes, the golden age of racing, them boys deffo had the balls, its alot easier nowadays and speeds have not really increased a great deal.

  • I Know what you mean but, if you type in

    "Olivers Mount Jefferies Jump"

    That takes balls

  • R I P Bazza, you are missed

  • What a fanstasic contrabution to motorcycling!

    God bless you Barry!

  • RIP Barry

  • DaveODrisc What a name where stands ODrisc for ..???

    Greets From The Netherlands (Holland)

Greetzzz from Arnhem the Netherlands ( Holland)

  • Hay!

  • pure legend ....can add joey dunlop to this list too.....2 of the greats

  • A pure motorcycling ICON! Besides the great save at 4:55, check out the reaction time in his attempt to save the bike at Daytona (2:14). A brilliant racer we lost to cancer....when will we find a cure?

  • cheeky cockney!!

  • The Mecano Man

  • legend

  • he was one tough bastard. motorcycle racing wouldnt be where it is today without him

  • to think all these accidents & he dies of frigging cancer, just look the Braay's Breaks List at the end, the bloke was amazing

  • Great man. Forever.

  • The Brilliant & sadly missed Barry Sheene.

  • Holy moly the save in 4:55 :O

  • God, looking from the list of what this chap had broken, I can say that it's as much as Jackie Chan's list. God bless you, Mr Barry Sheene!

  • great bloke and proud to say I met him shook his hand and got his autograph a great loss . odd Sheen and McCray after all they went through and to be lost way far to early and in something unrelated to what they did

  • Couldn't have said it any beter,I met him too when I was 6 years old in 1979 before that accident, an icon and willl always be remembered by our generation, sad loss;-(

  • Someone send a message to all kings horses and all the kings men, apparantly the way to fix crushed eggs is with 2 plates and 27 screws.

  • TRUE HERO

  • simply the best

  • Pure talent Barry, you were my teenage idol when I started riding motorcycles in 1974 - you will be fondly remembered.

  • Absoulote Hero, It is better to live one day as a Lion rather then ten years as a sheep RIP Legend

  • I make you right, he was my boyhood hero and still is today. I remember the races between him and Kenny so vividly.

    RIP Barry

  • madness ..the best

  • barry sheene= Legend

  • RIP Barry you were the best........

  • liobeking - if you read his biography he didnt INVENT the back protector but he used one, wiki isnt always right

  • Barry Sheen = Legend.

Michael Shumacher = great driver but a cheating scumbag.

  • legend,

    ;)

  • He invented the back protector but didn't profit from it. He gave the prototype and rights to a company to protect other people. (wiki)

Shows the kind of man he was.

  • I thought my shatterd humorus bone, coller bone, chest plate an 7 ribs was bad! Take my hat off for the man!! must of had balls of steel!!!

  • Barry was a legend, I was a member of the first aid team at Donington, Silverstone and Mallory. He was great, I can't believe after all the risks he Embraced.....cancer got him... Not Fair

  • Even today, when I think about all things motorcycle, two names jump immediately to mind: Barry Sheene & Eddie Kidd. Two men immortalised by their deeds.

  • OOPS the movie is Spce riders

  • Does anybody remeber the movie he made called time riders? I would love to get a copy

  • He was a great person I just found out his left ring finger was amputated. I lost mine in a bike crash in 1993. I miss these guys

  • Barry Sheene was one of my childhood heroes, I was gutted when he died a few years back.........

  • Barry Shenne and Graham Hill = the two best British gentlemen racers of all time on both 2 and 4 wheels.

  • Legend

  • not just a legend racer , but a true gentleman too , how often do you see that now ?

  • Thanks for the clip, Barry was the guy who made bike racing glamorous, i loved the mad bastard! RIP bazza.

  • rip barry sheene a legend everyone that rides follows your footsteps

  • "Dont wait for your ship to come in,swim out and meet the bloody thing"

Barry Sheene when first diagnosed with cancer, just about sums up the great man.

  • Barry was mad for it.

What a geezer. I wish I could have met hime and real life and had a yarn over a few drinks.

He must have been an awesome guy to talk to about life and racing.

    RIP

  • Hello to all the Felllow sheene fans out there!.

  • R.I.P BARRY FROM GWILLIAM

  • RIP Barry.....:(

  • RIP Barry, a true legend and hero!

  • Top Man True legend

  • he was an alltime heroe and my number on my suzuki 1000 is still the magic 7 and on my helmet are these big eyes

  • What a legend, the man, the dogs... missing him

  • The newsreader said yamaha; it was suzuki I thought?

Didn't he race trucks later aswell?

I wonder if any of his bones "hadnt" been broken in his lifetime?

  • Barry rode a Yamaha for a while after leaving Suzuki, the crash at Silverstone was during that period. Barry did race trucks for a while and he also did a season in the British touring car championship as well as commentary for channel 9 & 10 in Australia

  • This crash was at daytona, and if u look at the slow motion; the bikes blue and white and says suzuki, hope i'm not hallucinating again, have a look tell me what u think?

  • The first crash is at Daytona on a susuki the second is at Silverstone (still pics of his bike) where he was riding a Yamaha. If you had bothered to pay attention you would have noticed that the commentator says "just 3 weeks and 2 days after his horrendous crash at SILVERSTONE"

  • I knew i'd missed something, thats why I asked!

I wasn't being cocky, I wondered what was happening "if I had bothered to pay attention" indeed, cheeky cunt.

  • I'm from NZ but used to get the Channel9 GP coverage. Barry was great and hilarious, often having trouble with the Japanese riders names who would then be referred to as "that geezer" . Sadly missed

  • Barry, 2 cojones!

  • he was and alway's will be my hero.

as they say in red dwarf "what a guy!"

  • bloody LEGEND, We Miss BAZZA!!

  • I remember watching the Daytona 75 documentary when it was first shown,it made me want to buy a motorcycle and I been riding for the last 31 years,Sheene was an Icon to all us young 70's lads
