grindcore is a type of music that combines hardcore punk and death metal. there's a lot of different types of music that have odd names. for example: psychobilly is a genre of punk rock that mixes country music into it. another example is the genre called shoegazing, which is a term for alternative rock where the musicians stand still while playing their songs. i could get into a lot of other genres if you want lol

hah i know man i guess i was just bein a dick, i just never heard of grindcore. i happen to loove shoegaze, and thats gotta be the dumbest name of them all. cause obviously a performers tendency to "gaze at his shoes" while performing has nothing to do with the actual sound of the music, yet its an accepted genre name.

very true. grindcore is definitely not mainstream for sure though. most people can't really get into it cuz of the intensity and craziness of it. i like it cuz of the lyrics and the fast pace. its definitely a lot of fun seeing grindcore bands live too.
