None of the 6 points-scoring drivers had ever previously won a Grand Prix. And i have read that this is the fastest f1 race, i can't believe they had no chicanes, must have been so dangerous but obviously made for exciting racing.

@RCBSilat i'm not shure but i think Schumacher was the first who drove a faster race in 2004 (but more than 30 years afterwards) also in Monza

No one mentioned that was (to my knowledge) the fastest formula1 race ever, Gethin's average speed was over 240km/h!!! Think about it... It was almost 40 years ago.

Qella domenica di inizio settembre m'è rimasta impressa nella mente. Ero un ragazzo di 13 anni, ma gia' la passione mi bruciava dentro. Ricordo che davanti al televisore mi esaltavo e spiegavo a mio padre e a mio fratello maggiore tutte le fasi della corsa, prevedendo la vittoria di Gethin quando i piloti erano ancora all'uscita della curva "Ascari" . Il giorno dopo, a commento della gara, il settimanale "Autosprint" pubblicò in copertina questo titolo: "Se non è Siffert è Gethin".
