Is this a subject that interests you at all, or that you know much about? The Jungian concept of archetypes has always interested me. I do think that they play a role in the healthy development of human psychology. Unfortunately, our modern culture and worldview is based almost entirely on masculine archetypes. Whereas Patriarchal Monotheism, obviously, is based on the idea of conquest and domination. Though I am an Atheist (perhaps with Pantheistic leanings,) I was quite interested in Wicca for some time - insofar as it ties into many aspect of Feminism, Ecology and maybe even Marxism. Wicca, unfortunately, has become a somewhat muddled mess of teenage nonsense; but at it's core it is a religion of ecology and female archetypes. I love studying goddess-mythology of the Europeans, Egyptians, etc.

This is all discussed very well in "The Chalice and the Blade" by Riane Eisler. In which she lays out the differences between the ancient, matriarchal cultures of Crete and the more modern patriarchal cultures of western civilization. I agree with the anthropological notion that much of this is rooted in religion (See: "When God was a Woman" by Merlin Stone.) Goddess-worshiping cultures were, by nature, more communal, natural and sustainable.

I tend to think of patriarchy as a mode of class oppression. I find it hard to separate the two. Status yields privilege, and some wield it like an ax. From ancient times, we have continued status of men which women rarely have enjoyed. Equality is my goal, but if some group breaks away and contributes to what is bad for the entire group then disassociating is the most moral reaction. Problem with feminists who disassociate from men is only that they think they've identified all of the guilty.
