He was hated by the Egyptain people because his father Amhotep the 3rd broke with Egytpian tradition of marrying his sister to keep the bloodline pure. Instead he married a Hebrew woman. Egyptians hated the Hebrews, but Hebrews were NOT slaves. Amhotep III tried to calm them down by putting down an edict that all sons of his Hebrew wife would be killed so therer would not be a Hebrew heir.

Amhotep IV changed his name to Akhenaten to honor the Hebrew god Aten. He later had to leave Egypt because he was warned he would be killed.

Why is it that you can say the Bible story Vs factual Egyptian history. Although many would like to discount the historical accuracy of the Bible, historians & archeologists alike cannot. The facts of the matter is that there is much evidence to support the historical accuracy of the Bible & new confirmation of its accuracy is revealed all the time. Actually it isn't off base. It is said that all this dates back to ancient times. And they apparently used to interbreed with each other to maintain their bloodline.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was true as I can see an uncanny resemblance between Bush Sr, Prince Charles and the Queen. To be precise, the resemblance is around the eyes. Bush Jr has the resemblance too.
