The collazo fight for me showed warning signs, but when you watch the careers of both mayweather and Hatton the most obvious factor is from early on Ricky has been in some very hard fights, such as against maghee and philips in contrast to floyd who was never really tested.
If Cortez didn't step in to break up the clinches the fight would have been unwatchable. Do your self a favor and watch these clinches in slow motion...Hatton wasn't landing shit. Hatton can't hang at 147. He got ko'd by Floyd and nearly ko'd by Collazo. A hardhitting Welter would kill him.

Hatton is a protected club fighter.. He stunk the joint out againt carefully selected opponents, Collazo (who beat the shit out of him), and Urango (Hatton held on like a girl for the last 3 rounds).. Lazcano is another carefully selected opponent after they turned down Gavin Rees... Lazcano is old, worn out, hasn't fought in more than a year, and lost his last fight .... Typical Hatton cherry-picking.

For all the flash and show before the fight...During and after every fight, Mayweather is a complete gentleman. He is an amazing boxer, who's knowledge of boxing is what makes him so great. Like Hatton said himself, he wasn't afraid to get in there, and give Hatton some rough stuff back, and that's what makes a great champion. Those of us who have been watching Floyd over his whole career know he always fights the way he NEEDS to. He can do it all.

Here we go with Marciano again. He's was a tough guy but everyone knows he wouldve succumbed to battery of the likes of Ali, Foreman, Tyson, Lewis and all of them. Today, Marciano would be a good middle weight. The real heavy weights wouldve pounded his ass AND he still would have his hands full with Jermaine Taylor, Winky Wright and Bernard Hopkins. Think about it; he was undefeated with no famous rivalrys like Ali/Frasier/Foreman etc. He never had a REAL litmas test. Stop feeding the hype.

The fight proved two things.
Firstly, Mayweather is one of the best fighters on the planet.
Secondly, Ricky Hatton struggles at 147lbs, the warning signs were there against Collazo and he needs to fight were he is natural, and that is 140lbs.
Although I do think the ref ruined Ricky's chances early on but Mayweather was grabbing on when needed and catching Hatton at will on the way in- I knew by the 5th it wasn't going the distance.

The collazo fight for me showed warning signs, but when you watch the careers of both mayweather and Hatton the most obvious factor is from early on Ricky has been in some very hard fights, such as against maghee and philips in contrast to floyd who was never really tested.
