  • What are those people on? I want some! XP

  • hahaha i love that girl in the purple i the middle. So funny. either her head is detached because she has run her hands through her hair so many times, or she really wants dave's attention; good or bad. lol i love DMB!

  • Those hippies are the worst dancers. Can't they get the rhythm?

  • @BobbyA1985 its cuz they're high as fuck....

  • the hippie girl dancing the whole time kinda reminds me of angela from my so called life haha

  • It's great to watch footage of old school DMB... so nice to see them in their happy beginnings. Wow...who would've guessed everything that has come since then, both the good and the tragic. Love my DMB. Thanks to whoever captured this & to the person who shared it.

  • I could listen to this all day long....

  • This is so mind blowing... Peter on the keyboard adds a very very cool touch to this song i havnt heard before. Even back then you could tell this band had something really special. Thank you sooooo much whoever taped this historic event for all of us to see and appreciate today.....This could have been lost in history but instead it will live on for eternity! Peace.Love.DMB!

  • have to agree with mgkibbles lol that has to be the funniest thing, does not even dance to the beat lol. Dave Matthews Band Great song!

  • I believe the keyboard player is Peter Grieser. He had left the band before they made it big. It's interesting to see how much the band has grown since this show. Great band, great song!

  • I wonder where that keyboardist went to...gives the band a little different sound.

  • the keyboardist sounds alot like butch taylor who toured with DMB from 2000 to 2007

  • Leroi

  • That would have been crazy to be in Charlottesville in the early 90's...

Everytime I go to a bar to watch a band I think about all the lucky people that saw DMB before they were popular.

  • oh to be at this concert! I havent ever been that close to them. There are people just walking by!.. How do you just walk past dave Matthews!!! I bet you Dave still has that Sweater lol.

  • I actually got the pleasure of meeting Dave personally... I got word he was recording in Sausalito at "The Plant" studios.. So my wife and I went there.. he walked out of his RV - I ran up to him and introduced myself... He's the nicest guy.. and taller than you'd think. We talked for about 4 or 5 minutes, he said he had to pee and be right back, then sent his bodyguard to tell me and my wife that we had to leave as to not draw attention to where DMB was recording. :) Awesome experience!

  • 21/f/single hiiiii boys H

  • lol!!!!! look at the stoned lady dancing up front hahahahahahahaha

  • It's so weird to think that at this point in their life, they were living in normal houses, living like normal people and everything...Now, Carter owns a mansion with like a bunch of insane cars and Dave's got a nice little home in Seattle with his family and ROi....RIP roi =( So weird....

  • this stuff is so awesome im so happy u posted it. It's so surreal to witness them in a totally different light--u can tell they are going to be so big --larger than life even-- and its only a matter of time at that point

  • those were the early days, the best days

    R.I.P leroi moore

  • Those people had know idea what a part of musical history they were privledged to see.....

  • yeah!! the hippies are the best with metal guys!!! dave matthews band are the best band with dream theater!!!

  • this is awesome, espeically the 3 hippie chicks in front

  • MY HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED. This is OLD SCHOOL!! I love these guys so much.

  • wow even back then there is the hippie dancer that you find at every concert just lost in the music, classic

  • LOL so trued gotta love the hippie concert dancers they're always so fun.

  • Dave Fuccckin' Matthews Band..!!!!!!!

  • I can't believe they've been together for almost 20 years! 1991 was the best year for music. DMB was born.

  • This is classic!!!!!!

  • Can you imagine such a lackadaisical crowd now? This is awesome.

  • i wish concert crowds today are still like that... makes me wish i was a teen during the 60's...

  • This isn´t the Dave Matthews Band... This is THE BAND.

  • very cool.

i've seen dmb 16 times in the last 7 years. it's nice to see them way back when.

  • yeah you would

  • No didnt see him here - Sweetbriar was in the late 90's and was just him on the lawn. No tickets just dave kicking it..

  • I saw him at Sweetbriar college solo (the girl he was dating at the time went there). But while they totally deserve the success they achieved I miss the old days when he was an undiscovered gem with a cult following.. We could see him at Millers everyonce in a while..

  • That cool, did you go to this show too? I often wondered if these fans still like DMB or if they have moved on.

  • @Stouggies Van Ripers was a big stop for several years for DMB. been following since and while I am sure DMB lost a few early fans, anyone who appreciates the genius that is their music has only grown to love them more now close to 20 years later. I for one think they have only gotten better every single time I have heard them live. (oh, and I hired them in college before they hit it big) And lover lay down may be my favorite song of all time...it's certainly top 3.

  • @Stouggies

i still like him see them whenever I can. I just found these videos, lovin it, thanks for uploading. Did you tape them? I loved vanrypers. warren haynes, widespread panic damn! good! times!

  • definitely the makings of great musicians! dave matthews band is great through the years....even if the dancing and the clothes are not. haha =P

  • This is definatly one of Dave's best love and love lost songs. This song seems to explain my situation right now, I love it!

  • thanks for posting this one man. real cool, its amazing to see then and now but it sounds great either way

  • I would have been one of those chicks dancing in the front. Except I would have made it look good! :)

  • ROFLMAO

  • is Dave wearing a toupee?

  • I was wondering that too. I can't tell if it's some sort of a funky haircut or a hat! LMAO

  • old school... dave is the man

  • LOL..

  • By looking at this audience it's hard to imagine that they will be one of the biggest concert headliners a decade later from this.

  • amazing footage! what a diamond in the rough, woh would have thought...but his voice does not sound as great as it would in the future, it seems about 80% of as good as it gets
