The Comics between Year One and Long Halloween are: Year One, Batman Shaman, Monster Men, Mad Monk, Man Who Laughs, Prey, Dead To Rights, Four of a kind and then Long Halloween.
andrewcutter2@ oh i understand now thanx man :) uh i got my copy of batman year one in the mail today and read it so if i want to read in some kinda order would u suggest reading the long halloween now?
um i dont wanna say anything bad, i love your vids, im a big batman fan, jasons my favoutire character aside from dick
but you said batman is also affected by the joker gas, but finds an antidote, batman gives it to him self, i dont know if you knew so, yeah, keep up the good work :D
HA I got the paperback too and you're right it is better in paper back!! I'm 69% Joker. 31% Batman and I still liked it. I think The Man Who Laughs better. WAAHOOOOO!!!
After Dark Victory there's Batman: Gauntlet and Robin: Year One. After that there's Batgirl: Year One. But don't ask me about after that 'cause I've no idea. You could put Arkham Asylum in there next, but that's up to you.
I read 'The Man Who Laughs' story and it was a great story. Reminded me a lot of 'The Laughing Fish' episode in 'Batman: The Animated Series'. It was not as great as 'The Killing Joke' but still a great story. I hope 'Death in The Family' is a story I'll like. I didn't read 'Made of Wood' but I will sometime.
There's actually a silent film (for the fans who don't know) called 'The Man Who Laughs' starring Conrad Veidt and Mary Philbin. Originally Lon Chaney was the choice for Conrad's role but he turned it down. The look of Gwynplaine (The Man Who Laughs) is what inspired Batman creator Bob Kane to create the look of the Joker.
The original 1940's story this was based on was a little more action packed but this was a great retelling.
In the orginal monster man story batman strafed one of thier transports with his bat plane lassoed the monster man by the neck with a steel cord and pulls up killing it, Then he remarks he's probably betteroff that way Cold Blooded Bat!
Made of wood while maybe not the best followup to the first story, but it bookends his carrier nice. Nice review

here's the chronological order I know so far:
1. Year One
2. Monster Men
3. Mad Monks
4. The Man Who Laughs
5. Long Halloween
6. Dark Victory
My question is, are there any other graphic novels that fit directly into this timeline, or does anyone know what comes directly after Dark Victory??
