yeah, there was and still should be. I went back for Asian studies like two years ago and visited my old roomate. You gotta get someone to sign you on base if you go down there. Just go to the bars in the alleyway(the honch) across the street and try to make a freind. They have popeyes too and regular Mc Donalds, and a few other spots. Have you ate Mosh Burger? I love that far more than any American fast food. If you havent, try that..

I totally agree with Shu's perspective on Rope. It's great until around 3 or 4 am and then it turns into a nightmare with no escape. Japan is a playground but too many gaijin (like myself) get lost in the scandalous reality of it all. Don't get sucked into the "Ugly American" trap.

What bugs me a bit is the jealousy that heats up between gaijins in Japan.

People cant stand seeing another forginer score a girl or do good in Japan.

Good to see Roppongi not gettin bashed for once, Shinjuku and shibuya are far more dangerous due to Yakuza control, Gaijin just arent informed enough to know. Roppongi is a place to have fun thats all, every party district in the world suffers from the same rap as Roppongi.

That wasn't a club, it was a bar called "Motown".

Best clubs I think are in the club district "Dogenzaka" in Shibuya. If you do research ahead of time and find which one you like you can sometimes get in before midnight with only a 1000yen cover charge :D
