I had that same monitor, but a newer version of that computer is what my parents had.The monitor itself lasted over 10 years. It cost them over $1000 dollars. man has technology grown haha.

Yea the newer the OS the slower the computer even if the computers superfast. as I seen with my computers.

My HP Pavalion (Pavi) only just over a minute to finish booting on WIn 98 & a celeron 556MHz chip

my Acer Aspire b33 on the other hand takes 5-6 minutes to startup with a P4 1.8GHz chip.

When I was little, I had computer with 100MHz Pentium MMX and 16/32Mb of ram. It had 1Gb HDD too and it ran Windows 98 BETA (Memphis) and later the full Windows 98. I still remember when I played Duke Nukem 3D and GTA 1 and London. :)

Damn i just installed on my new computer a Quantum Fireball of 3GB with an Western Digital 80 GB and Hitachi 320 GB running Windows 7. The Quantum Fireball is 10 years old and still works, i just love the sound of that hard drive, its loud like it has rocks in it.

The CD-Rom drive's problem is that the little rubber fell off the gear, wich is inside. That little gear is responsible for opening the door of the drive. The CD-rom tself is making that horrible noise at the beggining, as the gear spins, and tries to opend the door, but can't, because the rubber fell off.
