@mycrazynan That's not a bad analogy (apart from the fact it doesn't flood). Still, it gives you respect for all those Hollywood promoters and filmmakers who've made the world believe it's glamour personified!
They used to say if you stood long enough in Piccadilly Circus in London, you'd see everyone in the world, because everyone passed through it at least one time in their lives. Perhaps that's true of Hollywood Boulevard today.
YEPPER...That is what it looks like. One of the BEST BEST Things In SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IS the New Revised GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY. I think I could live there!
What an honour to be added to your "Places of interest" playlist! Yep, ol' Hollywood's not the world's most beautiful Boulevard, but makes up for it with history and human interest. How many dreams have been made- and broken- between those stars?
Well, it certainly looked better in '07 than it had in '88 when I first saw it. It's been golden (in the 20s, 30s, 40s), it declined into a virtual red light district by the 80s, and these days I guess it's something in between.
Tks to you both for creating and sharing, love both your humours v easy to listen to. Wonderful to get to appreciate a tour of Hollywood without leaving the Rhondda Valley x
Growing up in Southern California I have been this route many times, but must say this video is the best view and company that I have had the pleasure of taking it with. Thanks for the tour...love Hollywood Blvd. The more it changes, the more it remains the same. It is a unique and multi faceted niche in the middle of urban spread, with a lot of great history. Thanks for letting all of us watching, squeeze into the back seat to see it with you two!
Hollywood is the craziest town in America. Then, New Orleans, Vegas, San Fran.

One writer called America "The Land Of The Great Brand New". It sounds as if that still holds true: no wonder I keep on coming back!
Thanks for the tip on Griffith Observatory, misssusser: Dawn and I did hike up to it, but lacked the time to go inside. Ah well, next visit...
