  • were they both treated for hyperthyroidism?

  • To give a cat a pill w/o losing the skin off your hands, get some feline pill pockets. Available at your vet's or on line. Stick the pill inside the (very tasty) pocket, the cat scarfs it down, and voila! You're off the hook, as it were.

  • Hi there. The treatment is VERY cheap for hyperthyroidism! Did your vet not go over this with you? Of the many ailments our Senior Cats can get, this is one that is treatable and affordable. Please, please go talk to your vet. It's as simple as one pill (Tapazole, Felimazole) 2 times a day.

  • @CherryCritter If the cat doesn't respond to pills, the radioactive treatment is about $1000.

  • My precious Patch has Hyperthyroidism and was diagnosed with it two weeks before I was to go off to college. I can't afford treatment or pills for my cat and I feel a deep, gnawing guilt knowing that I can't take care of her... My parents nor my sister care about my cat and she hasn't been receiving pills as of late. She is very thin I don't know what I can do for her at this point...

  • nice video to make ppl learn more about hyperthyroidism, i think my cat has it :( ill go see the vet to hopefully make things better, but i really hope everything will be alright

  • great video thanks! my cat has been diagnosed today, I feel really worried and upset. I have been given tablets for 3 weeks to get it under control, but then I was thinking of surgery, do you think its a good idea?

  • i think my cat has this! shes going to the vet monday!

  • 2:12 if I give my cat worming tablets she can easily twist out of it. Even the vet cannot give her tablets!

  • Aww! Would you mind sending me the clip of the kitty in the first part of the video? :)

  • Ahhh so much work!! and thankyou, you too!

  • I'd love to see any new ones you make soon! where are you a vet assistant? i'm in England.

  • Canada! I'm just relocating to a new clinic to pursue the Registered Animal Health Tech degree via a distance program. Work AND go to school- all in one. Good luck!

  • Thankyou for your videos! i am studying to be a vet assistant so i need all the help i can get and these videos help! thankyou

  • Oh fabulous!! I'm happy to hear that. I'm slightly behind on making new ones!

  • great job :)

  • Thanks for watching! We got your email about declawing and food, sounds great and I promise to dig into BOTH those topics.

  • that's great! I am curious to see what you have to say!

  • Abner turned 10 in October, so it's things like this that I need to keep an eye out for. As for pilling, my cats hate it but I learned a while back when Mackenzie went through something to just do it, do it quickly, and not let their fussing stop me.

Love the bloopers at the end. Laughter's infectious, ain't it?!

  • I am pretty good at pilling cats but omg... two of mine are horrible! they will resort to biting even! they hate pills, liquid... awful!!
