wow!!! that is AWESOME!!! :D i cnt say that its better than Josh Turner cuz Josh is my fave singer bt this is DEFINITELY the best cover i've ever heard of this song!!! :D <3
I love these guys they are really funny and can sing, play the harmonica and play the piano really good. I'm related to eric. He us my stepmoms uncle and he is really cool.
Josh turner never claimed to be a bass singer...Eric is MOST DEFIANTLY A WHALE OF A BASS SINGER...But it's hard to beat the fellow that wrote it and or put it out/made it. These guys are doing it for the same reason josh did...Putting out the Gospel of Jesus and that is what it is about. I do not agree with people saying this is better than Josh turner though..Don't think so.
I love this quartet i know all of them the piano player jeff stice was my paino teacher when he played for the kingdom heirs at dollywood i went to church with all of them but him
@triumphantfan They did a great job...But Better than Josh Turner..No..You don't beat the guy that wrote it and made it. Your opinion is biased big time...Ex...Your screen name= This type of music.
We can debate the "better bass voice" until we're blue in the face. BUT, how about that piano??? I wish they would cut all the singing out so we can enjoy that amazing playing :)
there is not even a slight comparison of the vocal ability between josh and eric. josh singing live aint even close to being this good. erics low note is a g or f so yes he is way lower than josh turner
Josh Turner's lowest ever (so far) is actually a G1...he was singing a tone rather than speaking a word, so it might have been slightly easier because of that (it was live with Randy Travis on "King of the Road"). It's in my first low notes video.
And Eric actually can go lower than a G1...youtuber jowox even said he can sing a C1...I'm trying to find the song where he does that!
@GamingDrummer89 Do you have different names for the tones than I have?^^ Because a G1 is actually not very low^^ Turner's deepest tone from his songs is a B(or a half tone lower or higher, dunno exactly), e.g. in the song "Don't mess around with Jim" at the end.
I believe that Eric has a very similar ambitus of tones, but his voice is more brutal than Turner's. Josh sings with much more heart, which makes him in my opinion the better base singer.
@DonAtheNightmare Also, the note in Don't mess around with Jim is a C2. There is a B1 (a half step lower than a C2) at the beginning of Firecracker. But yeah, again, a G1 is a pretty low note. Definitely in the bass range. Josh is actually the only country singer I've heard that could be considered a true bass (both because of his range and the natural sound of his voice).
his voice isnt "much" deeper than Josh Turner's (at least not on here). the lowest note i have heard Turner hit out of all of his songs is a low B-Bb. i know because that is how low i can go also
Actually, this is the key of Bb, which is the same key Josh Turner does it. Both are great singers, but have different timbres to their voices. This is a much different arrangement. I do think Eric is one of the best singers in gospel music though.
Eric is my wife's 2nd cousin. Was able to meet Eric and the fellas last week when they sang in Richmond, IN. Got to hang out with them for lunch at the house before the concert. These are not only great talents, but great men. Let me tell you, these 5 can eat some chicken!!
He is awesome, he and Glenn Dustin are my two favorites along with Aaron Mccune, Mccune is probably a little better(Lower maybe not singing ) but I like them all three.
I love it. I don't care what anyone else thinks, Eric Bennett is the most underated bass in Southern Gospel music today. He is as good as any one of them out there today. Thanks for posting.

If you listen to them both talk naturally, Josh's voice is sooo much more pure and is naturally deeper. This guy can def. sing though.

Obviously you have never heard Josh singing live ... his voice is MUCH more soulful sounding. This guy sounds like he has been smoking for 40 years..

@DonAtheNightmare A G1 is the lowest G on a piano. The octaves start at C, so a B1 is like a major 3rd higher than a G1.

Sounds good ..... but his voice isn't as deep and commanding as Turner's .....

His voice is much deeper than Turner's... It's just sung in a higher key

Love this singer and this song.
Fell in love with the song when I came across two sisters singing at a family gathering.
I have not heard this group before and find them fabulous.....how about that piano man?
Wonder how this singer would sound singing Sixteen Ton?
He would give Tennessee Ernie Ford a run for his money.
