Golf Tip: Hitting With a Hybrid

Not sure I agree wit you jhaley12. Hard to tell from video what his ball contact is like but the sound is pretty crisp so I reckon it was ball first, then a short shallow divot, kinda like a 4 - 5 iron. There's a lot of different hybrids out there, with a range of lofts, so maybe you gotta fit the swing to the thing in your hands. I'm not convinced I should toss the 3, 4 ,5 irons outta my bag yet. I'd lose the 5 metal first.

lol "ball forward in the stance" do you hit a short iron that way? i've just watched 4 videos on this, two of the "teaching pros" say hit down, the other two say sweep it. In the very first shot this "pro" hits on here he hits behind the ball.

what ???? hit a fairway wood on the upswing ??? utter nonsense ! no question whatsoever,,,you take 100 golf balls at the driving range and hit everyone of them on the upswing and you will TOP every one of them.

I fail to understand why a teaching professional would ever at any time suggest such a thing. A # 3 wood for example from the fairway, the ball is played a few inches further back than your driver, your hands slightly ahead of the ball then the motion is to sweep the ball off the turf !

@jeanmunn was thinking the exact same thing. i was like did ihear this right. yr correct sweeping it is the trick. i even sweep my hybrids just a bit and works magic for me.
