@YvetteV19 I thought twirling was in the Olympics. Anyway, this is Rhythmic Gymnastics, so it is a form of gymnastics, only with much more flexibility training, dance-ish choreorgaphy and concentration and skill. And working with an apparatus which can sometimes make it harder.

Just to continue my comment; hate the 500 character limit!!.I would rather see this than some extreme contortion where the apparatus becomes just a "prop" and the music just becomes: background music, irrelevant to the routine. For me, the Spanish juniors really do overdo insane flexibility elements, but very little other content to their routines. Evgenia Kanaeva has managed to use her obvious high level of flexibility in an artistic, rather than something which resembles a circus act.

Really beautiful and special: Anya got criticized(rather unfairly I thought) about the fact that she " doesnt show enough back flexibility" in her back scale pivots, but she has wonderful hip and leg flex and her height and body type give her a unique elegance and grace
