@mlrobins2 You like QI too? My older brother introduced me to that show. It was thanks to that show that I learned that the Great Wall of China could not be seen from space
What a name. WINK (lol) surely its a changed name. I loved our version of this game. I had never seen the american version of it. 2 be honest i didnt even know there was 1.
The Trvial Pursuit Challenge was definately straightforward and exactly as I imagined it would be as a bonus round, albeit without the high stakes prize.Sure a trip was nice but $1,000 was cheap even by cable standerds. $5,000 in 1993 would be good for cable tv. I think straight trivia games should be high stakes since brain power is the greatest exercise for competition.
Still I think this is an improvement for WInk's creativity since Headline Chasers. Good but not great. 3.5 stars.
Out of all the shows that Wink Martindale has done for the Family Channel, this was my favorite. Well, at least, the last half-hour, because unlike the rest of them, this was not interactive. When someone buzzed in, the host asked for the answer and the contestant gave it to him like any other quiz show. It also had an audience like any show. The other ones like Boggle and Jumble were boring for me, because it had no audience and when someone buzzed in, they didn't say the answer out loud.
Feidler and Berlin co-produced Wordplay w/Tom Kennedy and Trump Card w/Jimmy Cefalo and Wink Martindale was also the Executive Producer of Headline Chasers a series he also Created w/his late friend Merv Griffin, Bumper Stumpers and Why Didn't I Think of That w/Wil Shriner (which is now owned by MGM Television)
Oh and BTW, Headline Chasers and Bumper Stumpers are now owned Columbis-Tri Star and SONY!

From what I saw, the clock would read 09, all the way down to 00 after 10 seconds during the bonus round of this show. But you can't point that out in this episode, since Cheryl won in only 32 seconds!
The game show announcer guy Charlie O'Donnell best known for a long time game show "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeel of Fortune" really narrates "The Family Channel" during the closing credits.

Wink Martindale is really one of the best game show hosts ever. Even more, he was born in Jackson, in my home state of Tennessee!

You'd think someone that smart wouldn't be trying to speed up overpopulation.

You're both right: Randy West is announcing for the show, and Charlie O'Donnell is doing the Family Channel promo voiceover during the credits.
