Taigi kua(Hokkien/Taiwanese Songs) is an acquired taste like wine. I practically rejected all Taigi songs in 1980's until recent years. The genre is simply too difficult for younger people to appreciate.
Anyways I hope you folks in the South Taiwan will produce more good Hokkien/Minnan songs. Looks like Taiwanese are the only one doing the heavy lifting in terms of language revival. Not that we're complaining, but we could use some help.

Zhang Ya Wen is not only a great singer but also a talented composer/lyricist. She has written more than 160 songs & released about 50 albums for the past two decades.
