  • What a musician, I love him.

  • its been a honer and a privalige to grow old with this man and his music,he defines so much of my personality.

  • lucky people to be there that day

  • WTF?!?!?

Is this a Verizon store or a library or something?

Why is John-F@CKING-Waite doing a show that most high school garage bands are turning down?

  • A true master of the voice,a real poet.Nobody white sings with such saddness, power and grace.Met him in NYC back in 86.Aloha John, you RULE.

  • Great to see this. Such a monumental voice. Btw, in my humble opinion, 'Isn't it Time' and 'Everytime I think of You' are tops for John. Such memories..

  • his voice is still wonderful

  • The other man in black Tim Hogan on bass !

  • yes john rocks in any setting.

  • stickbandit27, your comment smells like a closet homo!

  • People don't understand.....you age, your voice ages, but your passion for music never does!!! Fuck the fallout boy fan on here.....He probably sucked the last gas station attendant in the USA for free gas to get to his shitty Emo-fest!! FUCK EMO!!! I love every genre of music than that subpar instrumentation, whinny bullshit! John has way more passion than those closet homos!!!!!

  • FUCKING WELL SAID!!!!!!

  • I just think that John is amazing... Love you John.

  • I will always enjoy listening to "Missing You" who many will consider his best. This song and him playing it live made it better. Makes me wanna work out/pump iron. Always moves me.

  • Excuse me Mr.Waite, i love your music,but im trying 2 get 2 the acessories behind u.Thanx

  • LOL

  • Looks like either Joey Ramone or Chrissie Hynde on bass...

    ;]

  • Tim Hogan(:

  • Thanks!

  • I met Tim in zaandam, Graz<verviers and germany: Great guy, with a great sense of humour!!!

  • What cool bloke for singing in a record store. makes me relate to him more... i like it!

  • Gee John....left to performing in a record store.whats next, a public library? Come on...take the Corby olive branch and stop being an *-hole...reform the babys already...We love you John, even though you can be such a tw*t

  • Most of the time, a well written song will still sound great when "unplugged" or without studio tricks.

  • sounds great acoustic!

  • all respect. i love this song. vision quest is in my heart. tell me about the rumours.

  • I saw John live in concert at a fest last summer in Illinois. He was great! I have loved his music since I was 8 years old. He is one of the best! I love when the performers of the 80's tour again!

  • Sounds great as an acoustic! Luis was touring with Pat Monahan last year- the guy gets around!

  • Luis toured with Pat this year too. He took a day off to play two shows with John (both on August 18) in Louisville and Cincinnati.

  • Sounds awesome!! Is that a Ramone on bass?

  • I love finding stuff like this on the net! The Babys, Solo, Bad English seen em all. He is one of the best voices in rock history. Even playing in front of the car charger at the local Radio Shack.....John's still got it!

  • I like this clip and he is a great performer, but unfortuntely it is all true to the best of my knowledge

  • Thanks morethanmelody for posting this. Excellent clip. Is John the best person in the world. Dont know, dont really care. Loved the music for 25yrs+. Whats the old saying "People in glass houses etc". Chewonthatblue, find something positive in your life. Lose all the bitterness. John thank you for all the music. Great songs, Great voice, Great poet. End of story.

  • And thank YOU for appreciating it. I'm only 16, and even *I* know good music/songwriting when I see it. Obviously the 'haters' don't.

  • if all or any of this stuff i read is true its a dam shame cos i think john has a great voice

  • It's not true. They're idiots. John is very talented.

  • Shit, I didn't know I'd open such a can of worms. I just love his music. Also The Babys was 30 yeaers ago, a long time to hold a grudge. It's not good for your health, you'll end up having a stroke. I agree with pushback 8, move on and enjoy life, lifes too short. IHATERODENTS, get passionate and say what you really feel, don't hold back. Health and happtness everyone.

  • Yeah I just posted this video so FANS of John Waite could appreciate an intimate performance. Not so assholes could bash him and stray away from the meaning of music. So everyone go get a life. I don't see any of you touring or selling records.

  • poor chewonthat sounds like a 40 somthing nuthugger, who got his feeling's hurt,by that mean John Waite-pull your pants up and move on.

  • and you sound like a fuckwit

  • pushback8 Mr fucken new youtube ghost channel cockhead.

  • bring it on cunt. let's really open it up, eh? who are you? the cunt himself, of mike nash, his useless manager.

  • Chewonthatblue, whats your problem with John Waite. Lose the chip on your shoulder man. Would you care to elaborate on your beef?

  • No chip on my shoulder. I just think he is Crud. The worst of what I know about the germ I wont mention, but I will say he saw to it that the person that hired him in The Babys was ousted by a corrupt record company by backstabbing him for his own benefit. He did a runner from his online website and didn't pay his hardworking staff, he treats the people that run fansites for him like dirt, and is just a cunt all round basically. You asked me to elaborate, and there you have it.

  • oh my god.... your one of those people that are better off dead. ive worked with them. i bet u work at a gas station or a resterant, read a falloutboy news magazine and think u know shit about music. ur a faggot bitch waste of fucking life put urself in the dirt where u belong u are nothing.

  • Damn, he's blocking all the accessories and I need a new adapter for my iPod!!!!!

  • John needs the money. I'm not sure why, but he does. But Border's doesn't pay artists to perform there. Artists do it to sell CDs. It's sad that someone who had such a long career did not save for the "rainy day," when people stopped buying his music.

  • maybe its that Waite arrogance that has put him in that position. Tell me, how do you know he needs the money.

  • I saw him play live a few years ago w/ a friend who is in a position to get him money - through his music. John and his manager were asking my friend about ways to get more money and it sounded kind of desperate. I won't give any more details beyond that.

  • this song has more meaning when he sings it live like this hmmmmmm.

  • It always makes me laugh when performers say I decided to play the clubs and coffee houses again to get close to the fans I was tired of the arenas and out door festivals. I don't think this is a warm up for a major tour. This is what happens when your run is over.

Ill wait 20 years for the PBS special John and Eddie Money etc etc etc

  • Of course his run is over. He does nothing new. What other reason would you have for prostituting yourself in a bookstore. Money? Some things you shouldn't even do for money, and in my opinion this is one of them. Pathetic.

  • How come when I go to Borders they never have people like Waite singing??

  • aren't you lucky.

  • Great Video!!

  • I'm cryin'!!!

Too many memories! The Babys and Journey together. Where have all the good times gone?

  • Lots of artists will go to Borders to promote their latest work. Instead of doing a book signing they just give a little concert and sometimes a meet and greet session following. It's not unusual, and the artists usually have a lot of fun with it and it gives them a more intimate experience with their fans.

  • meet and greet. ha ha. how much do they cost?

  • Lots of artists have been promoting their CDs at bookstores. Famous authors also promote their books at bookstores, so this is not uncommon.

  • daldog3 he's gettin' paid good $ to promote Borders.. but me & you mark get set go take him in the self help section next to 'A lady never wears last nights coctail dress just jokin' don't need to finish that sentence... lol

  • Good Lord! Why in the world is John singing at a Border's in Cincinnati???? I would pay dearly to see him here in NC! Does anyone know?

  • Acc to what I read John had decided to self promote himself by playing some bookstores. He felt a need to get close to people all over again, after many years of being on large stages.
