The soundtrack for this movie alone touches you. You can't listen to these songs and not feel the emotion of the movie. Even if you are yet to see it.
When Listening To This Song I Close My Eyes And Go To A Magical World Were Fell No More Pain And I Can Run Around And Have Fun, Were There Is Someone To Hold Me And To Tell Me Everything Is Going To Be OK, But Then The Music Stops And I'm Pulled Back To This World, So I Replay The Song Over And Over So I Can Stay There Longer
I listened to this song and fell in love with it right away. I just want to sway and fall asleep and cry all at the same time when I hear it...it's wonderful.
@carniusrogue Labyrinth is just an ordinary word. It means a maze you must try to find your way out of, that is often underground. The Greek myths have them in a number of stories -- the word itself is Greek. The two movie plots have nothing at all to do with each other.
They are both dark faerie tales, tales more traditional. Disney and others sanitized the faerie tales we tell for children to enjoy, but historic faeries are cruel creatures that steal children and abuse people out of arbitrary capriciousness for their own sadistic glee. They are creatures of madness, not reason. Faerie tales used to be cautionary tales about not making unwise bargains, dealing honestly, and staying close to the safety of the village, lest the faeries take you.
i think it is the best movie ever. It has it all: war, pain, a little bit of love, imagination, but most of all it it's full of hope, hope for a better life. I just think that it;s worth to see it and never forghet the most important thing the meaning of life andof hope. Never stop believing
i don't do drugs but hey, thanks for your advise. it's very kind of you making changes for the better in this crazy and confused humanity. i don't know u but believe deep inside some people has soul
I just watched it today, it was absolutely beautiful. I believe that the ending was indeed happy. I believe that she actually got to go to the Underworld, I mean how else did she get out of her guarded room to get her brother? With the chalk :)
@DoctorRamen i believ u im tired of ppl saying it was heaven it wasnt heaven i wood rather go 2 a fairytale world then heaven thats wat was so beautiful about the story that it finally wasnt heaven 2 me

Well, I wouldn't go that far, but I actually enjoy the subliminal messages Disney USED to have. Now it's straight forward baby s*** that no one of my generation wants to watch. I hope it changes back. >8C
@luttimatos dude i believ in conspiracie as much as any1 but ur fuking crazy as shit ya disney was a jew hating son of a bitch but the movis he made had nothing 2 do with the fukking illuminati lay off the drugs and get a fuking job
@Frysgirl3009 Well the fact its that the movie lets the audience decide really. According to Guillermo Del Toro (producer, writer and director) she does go back to her family in that fantasy world.
However there are plots in the movie that make you questioned whether Ofelia wants to believe in these fantasies, because she likes reading fantasy fairy tales plus she lives in a horrible time. For example: she wears the shoes in the wrong side, the captain never actually sees the Faun and more
@poorkinghaggard Well thank you :-D. Well at the end I was so confused because I didn't know if to feel bad or happy. I love films like that because even after you watched them you are still thinking about them. Pure genius.
The song is magnificent. A masterpiece that tells us a story with nothing more than song. It talks about a great fairy tale, but also a tragic one. Even without the words that accompanied it in the movie, viewers would have felt this way. And, it worked well at the end as well. "Tell the boy. Tell him what time his father died."
It makes me sleep faster too! The movie is not sad. If you had understood the movie you'd have seen that it was compulsory for her to die in the "human" world/reality in order she can go back to hers and take the kingdom she once left. Knowing that... It actually makes you sleep better.. Just like thinking that beyong this unhuman days, it doesnt matter if we die, something better is waiting for us... Comprendes querida?
I found it to be pretty sad... And scary. I mean, just think of the guy who got his face smashed in with a bottle. The music is beautiful but sad. It's just not the "watch it and sleep well kind of movie" . Got it, you condescending cunt?
You what the sad thing is though? The movie's ending can actually be interpreted in two possible ways, and the second interpretation contains nothing of this positive light. :(
@RoxieRoxBanana Or it really was a sinister and sad ending. Just a child dying in a cruel and very real world. With nothing but her story books and imagination to distract her from the harsh reality of war, murder and facisim. There are two sides to this tale. That's the greatness in it - you get to make up your own mind. Are you a fantasist or a realist?
@RoxieRoxBanana Well actually the kingdom is an imaginary idea she made up to escape the horrific setting around her. Her returning to her kingdom was a metaphor for her death and being with her mother and father (both of whom died as well). So it's a pretty sad movie haha.
@ILikeLipstick if it were in her head why would the fairy be a bug at first and then take on the shape of a fairy? wouldn't she have just imagined a fairy-shaped fairy right from the start?
@jonpbody To represent that the fairy is actually just a bug. She sees the bug and uses her imagination to pretend the large bug is actually a fairy. It transforms into a fairy in her mind. Didn't you do that as a kid? See a tree as a regular tree, then have it become something magical in your mind?
@ILikeLipstick ok what about the root under the bed? it makes the mother better and as soon as it goes in the fire the mother begins hurting. and it isnt an ordinary root because the captain and mother both look at it and don't know what it is because it's a magical root
@jonpbody There are many strange holistic medicine methods. They were so wierded out by it because it was a big, ugly root in a dish of milk. At this point the milk was probably rotten and smelled foul. The stress of the captain treating her daughter so roughly and having to yell at her daughter about it was enough to cause her already difficult pregnancy to hit another bump.
@ILikeLipstick well i dont agree with you at all but to each his own. what about when she escapes through a chalk door at the end and she is being guarded and there is no other way out besides the chalk door
I loved this film. And this is one of the most beautiful song I've ever heard. It has a sad feel to it, kind of melancholy, even tragic. The song just brings out the feelings most us have down deep, but try to conceal, or at least thats the way it is for me. Its a wonderful song. Soothing too.
