No Steven Threet an elite 11 QB and Justin Feagin runner up for Mr. football in Florida...also Brandon Smith a 4 star athlete...for 09 we have two blue chip dual threat guys also...
Did you forget about Michael Shaw? Rivals rates Shaw much higher than McGuffie (FWIW), exact same height/weight as McGuffie, virtually same speed on the 40. And Brandon Minor is returning too. Gonna have a SICK running game. GO BLUE!!!
Actually looking at how workouts are going so far, Grady and Brown will be the top two RB's with Minor 3rd, McGuffie 4th, and Terrance Robinson/Michael Shaw possibly taking some snaps as RB, although the two are set to play slot receivers.
McGuffie should redshirt until the 2009 season when, hopefully, Coach Rod has pinned down the RIGHT QB for his lightning quick Spread-Run offense. The QB is so crucial to this offense, and the truth of the matter is, "the Pat Whites of this World don't come around very often!"
Part of the reason McGuffie came is because he was told he'll be getting playtime this coming season... I don't know how that will work out with 3 juniors and another freshman for competition... and it looks like Brandon Minor has made strides and is now in the lead, though that may be because Grady is working around a minor hamstring injury and Brown has a broken finger or somesuch.
Michigan could really have something special IF they can find the key, which, in the Run-Spread is the RIGHT QB. West Virginia has had that element for several years, PLUS they presently have a very sound back-up QB (J. Brown). I'm impressed with McGuffie, as I feel that he is more special than his already lofty national ranking. Had he not had the ankle sprain his senior season, I am sure he would have got the 5* rating. Sam is a Slaton protege; he is not a work-horse back -- a la Mike Hart.
There are more than just Mcguffie and Grady, how about the probable starter, Brandon Minor? or Carlos Brown, and the young guy who looked impressive at the spring game Avery Horn, we have more than 2 guys to replace Hart.
what was so amazing about this video?

yes ppl he will be taking over for mike hart. But if Kevin Grady stay healthy then they can be a nice tandem in the Michigan backfield
