  • I live vandoren sax mouthpieces with Hemke reeds....

  • Do the v16 mouthpeices come with ligatures?

  • Vandoren 56 reeds for clarinet is good but inconsistent while the v12 is better for saxes... I tried v12 on clarinet and it's rubbish.

  • I play a Buffet champion Paris E11 clarinet with a Vandoren 5RV Lyre mouthpiece with a Vandoren 3.5-4 reed

  • vandoren A95 + Java 3 1/2 = power =)

  • i use a B40 mouthpiece and 3-3.5 size reed on my clarinet....its sounds soooo good :)

  • For clarinet - Vandoren 5RV Mouthpiece with 2.5/3 Vandoren Reed

Tenor sax - Yamaha Mouthpiece - 3/3.5 Vandoren reed

    Bari sax - Selmer C* Mouthpiece - 3-4 Vandoren reed :)

    <3 vandoren reeds !

  • Vandoren reeds are more consistent than Rico reeds. If you were to play 2 Vandoren reeds and 2 Rico reeds side by side, the Rico reeds wouldn't sound anything alike. True, Vandoren reeds are for more experienced players but trust me they're the best. I played for 4 years on Tenor Sax and I've experienced the difference between the two brands. If you're just starting out, use Rico, otherwise use Vandoren.

  • Rico and Vandoren are both good reeds. Rico seem to be especially good for beginners, after that it's the feel in your mouth and the sound you can get. Best thing you can do is stop using old reeds. Depending on how much you play, a reed should only last a week to a month (with daily play).

  • Just because they're made in Paris dosent mean anything. Vandorens are terrible intermediate players and worse beginners because of their low level of skill. Sorri vandorens your just not as good as Rico.

  • vandorens pwn the hell out of ricos

  • i has m15 :D

  • Well............. there are many comments that could be offered to this question. The best you can do for yourself is get different brands of reeds and strengths and try them out. Your preferences will depend on what is comfortable for you to play on and what kind of sound you want .

  • What do you guys recommend for a fellow bari sax? For a new mouth piece. I'm in high school. i want to try plastic and regular reeds. I'm looking for a versatile sound. Believe i have a Rico mouthpiece and am using an old Vandoren reed from a months ago. It is a 3. i want a jazzy tone, but also a nice solid for my concert band. what would be the best reeds for marching season? are Vandoren and Rico THAT different?

    Can anyone help?

  • hello, anyone knows that reeds are recommended for Vandoren m30? Thanks

  • I use Vandoren Jazz Mib-Eb Alto Sax reeds

  • I mean ZZ reeds

  • la boquilla que tienes es muy buena te recomiendo una lengueta de plasticover le da mayor brillo

  • @MCTWITCHIN I suggest using the best reed for you and your mouthpiece combination.

Vandorens sound dull on my metal modern Levelaire but a good Rico orange box adds a nice buzz and brightness to the tone.

Conversely Vandorens offer a dark smoothness to my Rascher sound, perfect for classical.

Suerte!

  • guys this guy is right. as for mpc's i highly disagree and find them great especially for the price. as for reeds, rico reeds are often better and better prices. people like vandoren because they are 'french' but RICO OWNS VANDOREN so you're getting reeds from the same company

  • I use a Vandoren SL3/AL3/TL3/BL3 for my saxophones and 5RV(Eb), M30 or M15 (Bb) and B44 (bass) for my clarinets. I have always used vandoren reeds (blue box or V12) and even though I often experiment with other setups these are the ones I *always* come back to. Vandoren is simply consistent and strong.

  • @joethemusician what is the differens betwen Vandoren reed and the others reed?
