  • i replaced the clutch on my 04 yz250f about a month after the clutch started slipping and now the engine will run but the bike wont move at all

  • My clutch is slipping when i go into powerband on my cr250. I havnt changed the oil in forrever. Its got atleast 12hrs on the same gear oil. If i change the oil, would the slipping stop?

  • @JuniorPros118 Possibly... the oil does make a difference. Might try adjusting it some too! Thanks for watching!

  • Hey nice vid! but what type of oil should i soak it in?

  • @PG13xStevieG Just soak it in the same engine oil that your going to fill it up with... these are a wet clutch so it's partially submerged in the oil. Thanks for watching!

  • what do i replace if my clutch is slipping an i cant go int gear??

  • @suburbanskater11 Might try adjusting your cable first... if not check the clutch plates.

    Thanks for watching!

  • when you tighten them four bolts down do you tighten them as much as they can go or what

  • will this work for my 1984 honda cr60r??

  • @SuperMotocross21 It should be very similiar to this... thanks for watching!

  • will this be the same on a 85 200x 3wheeler?

  • @Jay42o0 It should be very similiar.... Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks This will help on my xr200!

  • @petah14 Hey thanks for watching... it is very similiar to the Xr200. I've done one on mine before... just make sure you get the spanner nut tool to take the clutch basket off and on. It's a special nut on there... they way I got my Xr200 was someone used needle nose pliers and didnt get it tight enough.... so the nut came undone and fried the new clutch and chewed up the basket etc. * Spanner Nut Socket* Thanks for watching man!

  • I've got a question u might know. I just got an 07 crf250r and to put it in neutral while it's running I have to rev it a little and also the bike pulls even if I pull the clutch lever all the way in. I tried to adjust the clutch and it did not help. Could I mabie need a new clutch.

  • @StrainingDingelberry Sounds like the clutch isnt disengaging all the way... I'd try loosening the clutch cable adjustment. Do you still have lots of room for tightening on the cable where the lever still feels good? If running low on adjusting might be about time for a new clutch or possibly the clutch springs are week. I've had good luck putting heavier springs in them too.

  • love that background music! nothing better to listen to when your making love to machinery! QUE THE SAXOPHONE SOLO!!!!!!

  • @Birdcage67554 Oh yeah... always jammin in the garage tinkering! Thanks for watching!

  • @Birdcage67554 It's Bob Segar Turn The Page! It's a great song...

  • @gaussalmighty Hey thanks for watching!

  • So you just tighten the bolts down on the springs as far as u can get them?

  • @averageman67 Yeah... dont over do it though.

  • this guy has a cool voice. you could do voice overs for like a country radio staion

  • @BowHunt1229 Hey you think soo... thanks man that's funny! That's a new one... I've heard Hank Hill too. ;)

    Thanks for watching man!

  • I found this video quite helpful, thanks a ton!

  • @TheWayOut10 Hey your welcome..... Thanks for watching!

Lots more tips and tricks to come!

  • @jfrost77hd Could you make an in depth video on how to rebuild the top end of a 2stroke dirt bike? It seams easier said than done.

  • @TheWayOut10 Yeah it's kinda crazy I've never done a 2-stroke. I'm no pro, but I've done quite a few 4-strokes which have alot more to them. I've got a few that I've been planning on rebuilding but got a few other projects going right now. I definetly will make one but probably wont be anytime real soon.

  • @jfrost77hd Alright, I will be looking forward to seeing it in the future.

  • Hey I was wondering why you pulled out the everything from your bike. I'm getting a new yamaha rm85 and the guy I'm buying it from said that it needed a new clutch. Do I only need to buy the friction plates, metal plates, and springs? I'm new to this so please give me an as detailed answer as possible. Thanks.

  • @xEliT3xH3R0x Yeah that's all you need aslong as the clutch basket isnt chewed up... which it shouldnt be if it's fairly new. You can buy complete kits just like a did.... springs, friction plates and the metal plates. The kits are pretty cheap and really pretty easy. It will be very similiar to the video.... just lay your plates out just like you pulled them out, and put it back together the same way. Get a side cover gasket and oil to fill it back up and you'll be good to go! ;)

  • @xEliT3xH3R0xyour an idiot rm is suzuki and a yamaha 85 would be a yz85.

  • should your clutch be free spinning when you tighten everything up?

  • @apohl215 Yeah it will turn over, shouldnt just spin like a wheel real easy though.

  • ahh nice sultans of swing (dire straits) in the beginning of the vid:)

  • @djbazzmaster Oh yeah... just out jammin in the garage tinkerin! ;)

  • Wait so do you soak it in the engine oil or the oil that you put in your tranny?

  • @baconator127 There is no tranny fluid... just engine oil, that's what you soak it in. ;)

  • @baconator127 really? my dads got a honda crf 450 and he uses belray 80w in the tranny and 10w 40 in the engine.

  • @baconator127 Yeah it just has engine oil... this lubricates the transmission aswell.

  • Nice video, kinda helped my confusion on my friends bike. Can you show how too fix clicking valves? I got that problem on my dads moto 4 350 he uses for hunting. I would assume the clutch is the same for a 2-stroke too? Lastly, WTF?!?!? How do you have a Tim Hortons cup in the U.S, I'm Canadian and I thought you guys didn't have Timmy's.

  • @jango268 yo dude im in Buffalo and tim hortons is literally on every corner..there ten of em within a two mile radius..its ridiculous

  • @MaGgOtFaCe551 Yeah I've got one right across the street... they take all my money! ;)

  • @jango268 Yeah we have Timmy's here... I go there everday! Good stuff! Yeah the clutch will be the same on a 2-stroke aswell. I think I made a video with this engine on setting and checking the valve clearance, have to double check on that or give them a skim through. Take care man... thanks for watching!

  • @jango268 Hey thanks... I have a video on the valve adjustment on here too. Oh yeah got the Timmy's right across the street!

  • what kind of oil do u soak it in?

  • @1whoridesDirtbikes Soak it in the same oil your putting in the engine, you'll have to change the oil in the bike when you do the clutch. Thanks for watching!

  • Oh okay, thank you.

  • My dirtbike is a cr 125 its been sitting a while and wont run now, It has a spark from the plug i cleaned it off and kicked it over while the spark plug was out, And it just doesnt want to start what do you think?

  • @banjoswagon I bet it's probably the carburetor. I'd just pull it off... take the bowl off and clean the jets and any crud out of there and you'll probably be good to go!

  • @jfrost77hd Yeah, And I'm not sure how much compression it's getting either its only a 125 but it doesnt seem like much.

  • @banjoswagon Might need rings or top end rebuilt. If you have the plug out put your finger over the hole and kick it... it should push your finger off or come close and puff if it has decent compression. Just a quick test without a compression tester.

  • hey if i have to crank my bike many times really quick to get it started with full throttle but once started i can start it no probe for like 24 hours and yesterday full of gas started coming out of the expansion chamber near th cylender? what would you say that is bad fuel mix or spark plug?

  • @davison1021 Sounds like your carburetor float is sticking and the overflow isnt working properly so it's draining into your cylinder. Might try adjusting the float for alittle less fuel by bending the little tab your float needle rides on. Let me know if you have any luck. Thanks for watching!

  • @jfrost77hdi will man thanks im just going to wait to see i was missing the expansion chamber spring and lots o gas was leaking threw teir so maybe i was losing my gas through thier is it possible?

  • @davison1021 Sure it's possible... was it ridiculous load before you put the spring on?

  • cheers, thx

  • @shiezeka Hey glad to help... Cheers!

  • i hear bob seager ;D nice post!

  • @leonvisser Ohh yeah... always rockin out in the garage when I'm tinkerin! Thanks for watching!

  • Well covered , Is this a Honda motor ?

  • @terence20001 Thanks.... yeah it's a Honda Xr100. But kinda a general video since alot of them are very similiar.

  • nice

  • @dmaheryfz450 Thanks man!
