I've been told if you kill yourself you go to Hell, but I don't understand why you would go to hell. I mean suicidal thoughts is a physical disorder there is a chemical unbalance in your brain that can cause these problems. I think there are exceptions there are teens that kill them selves and they haven't lived life and sending a kid to Hell is messed up cause they don't really know what they're doing. I'm not saying suicide is ok, but why because of one mistake should you be sent to Hell

I hated God for allowing it to happen but now that I think of it, I'm glad we were. He had some mental problems and had I stayed in his life, mine could have ended.

By the age of 11, I was learning what it was like to be beaten. I went through my young teens with physical and verbal abuse. Told I was a mistake, and he was going to end it. He attempted to drown me several times, shattered a vertabrae, broke two of my ribs, 7 healing fractures in my sternum to date, went through school with everyone thinking i was gay, because of his influence on my older brother. Not once had he said he loved me. Died in 2005, been 6 years. Finally forgave him.

@Schism1000 I am 17 years old. From about 8 to 12 I suffered physical, emotional, metal abuse. From 8 to 12 it was abusive. From there on it was emotional and mental. I now live in foster care and have turned my life around cuz i did get myself into trouble a few times. I moved into care a year and some ago. I probably wouldn't be here if it wasn't for moving. Manafest has got me through a lot with his words.

i havent seen my dad since i was 3, me and my mom and sis moved away from him cause he was a drunk, no one in my family was a christian untill 9 months ago, i decided to turn myself to God, and i now realize that i never had a real father, i always had a father looking after me, and im very proud of that :)

This song relates to me so much. I stopped seeing my father when i was.. around 6. I'm thirteen now and he just suddenly showed up. after 7 years of no communication. I had to spend 7 years in sorrow wondering why he left me for his new son, for his girlfriend. I wondered if he thought about me every day. He says he did. But why didn't he call? I know where everyone is coming from to cause my father denid me ever being his after my mother had me. I didn't know or hear about him till I was in my late teens. I found him 3 years ago when I was 23 and all he thought all I wanted was child support when really all I wanted was to know the man who helped create me. I just found out though that I'm now going to be a father of my own but I'm going to stand up and take care of my girlfriend and our child, like a real man would.

I can relate to this song,....my real dad left me and my older brother and my older sisters... i was 3 my brother was 4 my sisters were 6 and 7..... that was 11 years ago... i always wondered my mom left him.... turns out he never loved us... he abused us... (my brother was the one to get the worst.... he came home one day with his two front teeth punched into his lip.... he was 4 years old..) my mom has been taking care of us.. how to take care of each other... how to love family and not hurt..

I just found this song while searching Youtube...I love God. My earthly father left my mom when he found out she was pregnant. 5 years later, she was shot and killed by my step father...So now I live with my grandparents. I'm now 16, and haven't met my father, even though I know who he is. I've met two sisters in their 30s that I hadn't met until just last summer...What a life, but nothing is going to stop me from believing in God.

im at work listenin to my iPod, i get this song and i never even heard it b4 i got it, then i listen to it at work, and i suddenly feel sad that i never had a father, then when the marriage part came up in the song, i realized that my dad will never be able to know me or my wife if i ever got married, im only 17, i havent seen my dad since i was 3, i really miss him, i hope that God can watch over him until i can see him for the first time

@Timster845 There's always a reason for everything. Sometimes losing a loved one is for our benefit. I know, its hard to believe but its true. I lost contact with my brother years ago. I hated God for allowing it to happen but now that I think of it, I'm glad we were. He had some mental problems and had I stayed in his life, mine could have ended.

Perhaps it was best so that his behavior wasn't inflicted on either of you. We tend to mimic our parents at a very young age. In many ways you were protected by his carelessness. God bless!

My dad abandoned me, sis and my mom about 8 years ago when I was 9. He left us big money debts and my mom is still trying to pay em off while taking care of the family. Great song that I can relate to.

@Yoshio12 To me, when fathers abandon their family it only shows their afraid of responsibility. However, as I told another person there is reason to why they do so. Many times we don't understand why but God knows and many times it becomes a blessing because we're physically unharmed.

I love this song, my dad didn't die or commit suicide but I feel the same about my dad sometimes, I never really knew him. I love this song because it feels even though it's about your dad dieing, it still describes how I feel, he left when I was 4 and I havent seen or heard from him since. This song is the reason all the suppressed emotions about missing him came forward, it made me wonder if my life would be different if I had a dad. Good job Chris, I love this song.

i dont even know my dad? he left when i was born... i didint hear about him till i was 10 found out hes in jail for beating women and doing drugs what a dumb fuck! it pisses me off that he didint even want to talk to me! he didint even say bye. now hes in hondorus and ill never get to see him. why did you leave me dad? you could of tryed to talk to me! atleast get to know me!!! well atkeast im not him... im doing great in school...and im a good dancer but he'll never get to see me dance... ever.
