  • what iff the interwebs stoped for just a sec

  • but why dit internet revolutionized europe/holland as late as in 1995?

why it took soooo long untill internet finaly had been revolutiionized.

oh well who ever know how traveling from and to the moan will be revolutionized in 2015 or 2030 or whatever, sothat even consummers can take a trip from and to it whenever they like it.

maybe it will be just as normal as traveling with an airplane!!!????

  • Thanks and best regards to easynetconnect for putting up this entertaining and informative video, which I downloaded just after slogging through the rather dense Wiki article on the history of the web. With a coming crash projected, the end of peak oil (and therefore cheap electricity everywhere) we may look back fondly at the early Noughties and say "Wasn't it something..."

  • symbolics,com first website

  • WOW!

  • Well, I'm one of those over one billion users. You know, I don't take light use of the Internet, I take heavy use of it. Who else takes heavy use of the Internet and YouTube? The Internet is not only awesome, but has an interesting history, and so do all those websites.

  • @MyNameZebra Anyone thing is that I saw that Netscape banner and it make me go. I remember those now.

  • Here's another 40-year history condensed into 3 minutes, edited tightly to The Beatles' GET BACK and GLASS ONION, with brief nod to the internet along the way. Enjoy.

  • whats the internet?

  • gosh... just think a world without it. thank you internet we love you!!!

  • cool. I like the interweb. I get to go on facebook's and youtube's using the browser software on my internet computer. It's connected to the internet and it's all electronic!!! YAY ME!

  • I wonder... what could be the historic first phrase ever transmitted via the internet ? :) - probably something like "Hey! It works!" :-)

  • @GR8TM4N the first word transmitted over arpanet was "lo"

  • @GR8TM4N It was actually "login" sent over ARPNET sent Oct. 29, 1969. However ARPNET promptly crashed, and all that was received was "lo".

  • @GR8TM4N Probably the first thing you say in programming class "hello World"

  • @GR8TM4N It was an email explaining how to use the mailclient :P

  • @GR8TM4N actually it was a signal that we use as music today. dubstep:D

  • i like the internets

  • without this, its like being connected, without any browsers to use, so you get email, and ftp, and access to bbs's. Maybe of some use to tech professionals, academics, military and nerds, but not much good for the average punter wanting to bid on ebay, or watch video.

  • Internet does have its roots in US, but the World Wide Web was invented by Tim Berners-Lee, a british scientist at CERN.

  • But before that Packet Switching was co-invented by a Brit called Donald Davies. So the roots aren't entirely US.

  • Owe it all to AL Gore!

  • haha Al Gore is such an idiot

  • LOL

  • We created a monster.

  • How about no. The internet was invented in the UK.

  • YEAH! The Internet, was first invented by BRITISH scientists at CERN as a way of easily transerring information and messages between computers.

  • Err. No.

  • @kowalskicol - the internet already existed What Sir Tim Berners-Lee at CERN invented was html, the ability for very different computer systems to share data in very different formats through the common interface of hyper text markup language, so he effectively invented the world wide web, which allows easy access to data on all these different systems, using a common protocol.

  • you can educate yourself over the internet

the good thing is ,, you can choose what

    hail internet lol

  • this video is great!

  • Informative, but kind of unprofessional video. I got a headache from it, and I'm guessing people suffering from epilepsy are twitching on the floor after watching this.

  • Today matks the 40th aniversary.

  • Cool, Thanks for the share..!!

  • love the Dr Stranglove reference... cold war bunker FTW!
