definately need a deeper net. who answers their cell phone while fighting a steelhead i leave mine in the car when i fish. but he did land it and thats what counts.
the guy did great. i would recomend for him to get a bigger net though, perhaps a salmon sized net...and maybe lay off the cell phone while soloing a steelie.
anyone know of any good spots on the american or sacramento river in the sac area good for steelheading? drop me a line. my cousin is trying to get into it and i would love to help him out. we fish the washington oregon areas. greatly appreciated if anyone responds.

you have too shallow of a net dude! let them swim into it! Makes it easy!
