Otherwise, for information, French soldiers who use this weapon have explained me that the two Canadians soldiers in this video have aimed directly the opposing tank whereas they must first raise the aiming for the good start of the missile and then aim the target.
I wish people would stop thinking its France. But then again if they cant bother to read the coments or the information right in front of there nose :P
TO recap this video (that they use during training sessions) show the miss fire scenario. And quick note: miss fires happen ALLOT more then people think in all military's around the world. The SAFETY mechanism prevents the rocket from going active if its inside the MINIMUM safe distance.
Also this weapon is better than the american javelin if you compare good and bad points, the javelin is alot heavyer, dangerous, need 2 soldiers to shoot it, it costly and is long to shoot because of it thermal refrigeration. the only reason american dont use the ERYX is because they are too proud of their craps... It's funny how old WWII debates spawn with this video. I think that France had no choice but to surrender considering that it saved many thousands of lives. ok for those who do not know about this weapon it has a max range of 500 meters therefore they dont have to run far for the safe distance from it also doesn't matter where you are from there are military malfunctions everywhere and at least they laughed about it i know a mate of mine who dropped a live grenade in practice good thing no one was injured but when we got back to barracks we beat the beat the hell out of him.
At least they had the good sense to run first and laugh about it once they had got some distance between themselves and the defective round, not just stand around waiting for the thing to - potentially - go off in their faces.

@dvdprui Well i definitely cant speak for the France french. But i agree that the Canadians. ALL of us even the injured once fight hard as shit. We even have a Cpt, who lost both legs and is now still serving in the Canadian forces and has returned to Afghanistan. He has new replacement legs that allow him to do everything a normal man can. (Gave you a thumbs up on that one)
