Vehicle regen is nothing to be afraid off. Only minor damage can regen itself, take some more and your vehicles is disabled or actually a burning wreck.

i like battlefield, but usualy the problem i have with it is theres so many vehicles u CANNOT use ANYTHING but enginier. it gets kinda annoying and im not looking forward to doing that again. if i use anything but enginier i just run into a tank or a helecopter and then i have to go hide in a building so it cant see me. its kida bullshit

Swords, the tank reden id only to a certain point, after lets say, 75 %, no more regen. They call it "armor recovering". It's not overpowered, and engineers are ever crucial to the battlefield.

Your bit on the armor regen for tanks was inaccurate. If your tank has minor damage then it will regenerate health, but if it has major damage the tank will hardly move and then you have to have to be repaired because it will no longer regen health.

If activision or treyarch were making BF3, I'd be concerned about the whole balance of the self regenerating vehicle health. but since its dice, I've got full faith that things will be balanced (aside from minor gun tweaks down the line) this game has been a long time coming, and I'm sure balance has been a key priority since day one.

people are acting like the armor regeneration will be as if your tank has 1 hp left and then u can regenerate all the way back to 100. The armor will only heal if it takes minor damage. Anything major will disable the vehicle. Im sure 2-3 rockets will at least disable it if not destroy it. Its not as big a deal as people are making it.

Considering how important the Bradly was for Operation Metro, I can see tank regeneration as a kind of good thing... but I also don't think it should be in the game - it completely invalidates the Engineers roll on the team and in the squad. It'd be nearly pointless to roll Engineer if it weren't for their anti-tank rockets.

For the tank regeneration; they could make the rate for low compared to having an engineer doing it for you. Ex: tank regeneration goes at a rate of 2 points per 5 seconds. While an engineer could fix it at a rate of 7 points per 5 seconds. These rates are fictitious, but you get my point. This would allow for tanks to not require engineers in a certain aspects. Yet still gives the engineer an important role if a tank wants good chances of surviving.

The auto-repair only works if the damage taken is less than half of a full health bar , if it is more than half, it wont repair itself. That is where your engineer comes in. You also need to retreat for awhile for the auto-repair to begin working. Just thought I would point that out.

You do know that regional damage profiles are also in BC2, right? :P Tanks have always been weaker in the side/rear than in the front. Moreover, the angle at which the rocket hits the vehicle also plays a part.
