  • where is the HOW TO part of this demo? Just saying.

  • Beautiful.

  • welcome...visit GPABSKY.com website for the ARTIST. thank you!

  • I find this incredibly beautiful to watch. T Hough I am in a different field its application still inspires and I watch many kinds of theme and types of video on art... but now and again some inspire me to sit behind the brush instead of in front of the screen. And this was one of them. :) Best wishes.

  • I love watching you paint in watercolor. Are you ambidextrous? I noticed on some paintings you use your right hand, on others your left hand. I am impressed.

  • is the technique in watercolor painting different from oil and acrylic painting???

  • Wow, very nice video, ur very talented :)

  • ever thought about painting to some motorhead?

  • Hi. What's the background song?

  • WOW!!!!

  • you make the most beautiful watercolor paints i swear.

I ty to use it and it looks like a fingerpainting from a child yet I am pretty good with acrylics!

    Wow.

  • super duper! :-)

  • Nice video Lori!

What kind of frisket do you use, and is it necessary?

I tried it once, and wasn't very successful with it...

    Mariette xox

  • Hi Mariette, No frisket is not necessary, but can be helpfull when not wanting any pigment on your white areas, I use many brands, Windsor Newton has one, along with the std. cheap joe products. :) Thank you for your compliment. Lori

  • Amazing! Watercolor for me is quite hard, but I have the little standard paints. What kind do you use?

  • Thank you Senseofromance. :) I use quite a few different brands, mostly tube, favorites are w/newton, and daniel smith.

  • hey, nice video! really liked watching it. keep up the good work. check out my artwork video and adobe CS tutorials if you like, and vote for my artwork!

  • Thank you

  • You made it prettier than it actually looks. The background and all. But it's amazing craftsmenship.

  • Thank you so much. :)

  • Great video material .

Flower is as pretty as the artist

  • Your too sweet and Thank you. :)

  • Wow, that's awesome! I started using water color pencils a few days ago. It really get into, like "Should I make rolling hills?" Or "Should it be day or night?" and stuff. You're very good, how long have you been painting?

  • I see you have an art flair, great animations on your channel! Thank you fo ryour comment. I'm pretty old LOL, so about 30 years now. I have an online class if you feel compelled to join, check out my video on the fron of my page on youtube. :) Regards,Lori

    Cia

  • nice ,awesome video .... nice ,awesome video ....

  • do u let it dry bfore aplying more watercolor or not?

  • When I'm doing the glazing technique yes, love your belly danding. :) True art form as well.!

  • This was equally impressive, but I'm sad not to have not been to glimpse the final work.

I studied art & art history in college before switching to music at UCLA.

Watercolor is an artform that require MUCH in the way of patience, as you must come in light and work to dark. My works always became muddied because I just came on too bold and strong, which does not lend itself well to watercolor!

My best watercolor was one which I painted and then rinsed off ;-)

I always did better in pastels!

  • Sorry for the long delay in getting back to this comment. However, your quote"because I just came on too bold and strong, which does not lend itself well to watercolor!" Whether or whatever your lending is, no means, your lending is wonderful in all of your art! :0 A true admirer I am. :)

  • What I mean is "coming on boldly" w/ color in watercolor isn't a technique that works well ;-D WC is a layering process, as you know. You start out with a wash of pale color... then another, building slowly one layer upon another - until you're done. I never had the patience, but what I lack in patience for WC I made up for w/ pastels. My own gift is in music, lyrics, language & words! I can craft a sentence!

We're all artists of 1 thing or another, if we look at ourselves to find our artistry.

  • Great video and excellent control with the watercolor!

Ive been drawing for years but never really tried painting until recently. My main interest is to use this to color/shade "quick" concept sketches :) Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for learning the control of watercolors?

  • Thanks so much for your comments and sorry for the long delay, My only advice for learning the control of watercolors are "practice", you'll know when to swipe away water, or how much pigment to put on your paper, etc. another great tip, that I think all watercolor artists should know. Do NOT be AFRAID, it's only paper and paint!

  • Damn you gave watercolors a good name.

  • Thanks so much, Yeah, Watercolor itself doesn't have much fan base anymore or ever for that matter, sure wish that would change. Your sweet to comment, and ps I see onyour channel you like Velasquez, hes a fav. of mine, and I did many a paper on him, yEARS ago. :)

  • Oh and P.S. "The Girls with a Pearl Earing" is definitely a "must own" book or movie, if your interested in Vermeer. :) I prefer movies, however I hear the book was good as well.

  • i always chose music courses in highschool for my arts credits, i loved both though n hated having to choose, i've started 2 get into art again (i'm in grade 12 now) through graffiti at the skatepark and trying to attempt some of them in my sketchpad. This vid makes me want to try watercolours and incorporate them into my writing, or just try painting anything. i got my first watercolour set today. i hope i'll be as good as you one day :)

  • Gavin - Thank you and I hope to see a wc vid on your channel soon! :) P.s. I like to ski too! water and snow!

  • This created a desire to break out my watercolors and paint again. Long story short-health problems-financial problems and when we moved we were met with yet another disaster-multiple leaks in every room of our new home. Watching your video made me long to seek that part of me again. Thank you for the inspiration! Thank you!
